One of my favorite metaphors for creation. If we want to understand Brahman's predicament we mustput ourselves in his shoes ( big shoes, no doubt.Galactic size) Think of it, the poor bastard iscompletely alone and to top of it all, he is eternal. What to do? Eternity is a hell of a long time to kill!Best way to whittle the kalpas away is to beunconscious. Take a nap. Have a few pleasant dreams, afew nightmares. Enlightenment happens when one of thedream characters realizes its all a dream and tries towake up all the dream characters, but it's a futileeffort because Brahman doesn't want to wake up and thedream will go on without an end.Happy dreams,Pete--- hurg <hurg wrote:> the origin of most advaita teachings are based on> the modern > interpretation of the ancient hindu myths. before a> whole cast of > gods and goddess were introduced into the second act> of the divine > hindu soap opera, the play was much simpler: > > atman is brahman (the universal self is> consciousness as the modern > advaitins may say). brahman goes into the trouble of> manifesting the > universe. brahman sets the stage. brahman then plays> all the roles. > > when we look at this traditional hindu play and> critique the plot, > there is no role more bizarre than a spiritual> seeker. brahman is > like a gambler with unlimited money, hitting on all> the possibilities > on the table. sooner or later it happens! the atman> plays the role > of the spiritual seeker yearning to go back to the> brahman. > > i'd like to think of brahman more like a lounge> singer impersonating > johnny mathis singing to his most ardent fan, the> spiritual se Finance - Get real-time stock quoteshttp://finance. Imagaination. A grand illusion. Even though in the dream you take it to be real. A heaven on earth or a hell on earth. But since it is not real, it never really began in the first place. So it is beginning-less. And of course, what never happened in the first place is also end-less. So too with your waking " dream " state. .. Such Bliss is not heaven! It is nowhere, nowhere at all, not then, not now, not in the future. Such Bliss has never been experienced by beings at all except in their moment of vanishing when they slide upon the Light from which forms are made. When nothing even in the slightest is experienced or known or presumed, then there is only the Infinite Light of Bliss, the same state in which you now exist but without the compartments of your atrocious thought, without even a parcel of it hanging out. Now we are free. Then we are free. Then we were free. Then we will be free. This space of time is only a figment of your imagination. This body here is the lie by which you are bound. Be willing to give up your body, even now, even now. And your mind which is your body -- Let it go. Let it go. This is my recommendation. ~ Franklin Jones

YOU ARE THE DREAMER, It's your dream. If you see nightmares, you must, in a way, like them. Remember, people line up for horror movies and rollicoasters. I go to the beach. No nightmares, thank you. Well, there are a few women that don't know when to stop wearing a bikini. ) Pete Finance - Get real-time stock quotes http://finance. I pity the creature that gets me on its plate. Autophagi (eating myself) gives me the chills. I think I coined a word. Clever little shit! Pete Finance - Get real-time stock quotes http://finance.
