Daily Words of the Buddha

September 2, 2002

To avoid all evil,

to cultivate good,

and to purify one's mind-

this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Dhammapada 183

Namaste All,IMO,

It is real whilst one is in it, as Sankara said, so

there has to be a certain purification of the buddhi

and vijnanamayakosa to enable one to understand the

concepts and science of moksha.

It is fine to talk nondualy and deny our senses etc,

but if we don't purify we will always be no more than

verbal non dualists, vndists! For it takes a great

amount of spiritual maturity to really understand the

concept 'Who am I?' and know what to look

for.....ONS..Tony.

=====

'What is Truth?' (Pilate to Jesus.)

(Jesus answered with silence).

Another interesting Jewish view.

Upon waking all becomes bright and clear.

There is nothing to understand.

All concepts are bullcocky.

At best, Pointers to Nothing, not even the idea of Nothing.

Which can't be pointed to!

Hya EL,

Wise statement, but I doubt whether you

can convince Tony and others alike.

The chances that such folks will ever get it,

ie. those who have heavy investment

in (second-hand) scriptural knowledge

and (perspiring) sadhana , is slim to none.

I myself didn't get it until UG

delivered a devestating blow in a conversation

during my visit to him in Gstaad some time ago.

He immediately turned to me and exclaimed

" Now, did you get it! "

you get it? " I have nothing to teach? I'm a

dysfunctial sick puppy? " :)))

I'll drink to that! Beer, please. THe GOOD NEWS: If

you are seeking, you shall find. If you know about it,

if you want it, if you are reading this: it's

inevitable. Your head is already in the tiger's jaws.

THe Bad News: The inmense majority has not even hear
