Guest guest
Is it true that Nisarga claimed the following: To me nothing ever happens. There is something changeless, motionless, immovable, rock-like, unassailable; a solid mass of pure being-consciousness-bliss. I am never out of it. Nothing can take me out of it, no torture, no calamity. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj ???----------------------- --- If so, how could one possibly understand this reaction: This is not an exact quote, but close enough. Nisargadatta (not one of yourmore patient gurus) screamed at one of his questioners:"Are you some kind of an idiot? You've been asking me the same question fortwo years!"Mark (posted on DirectApproach Group) ---------------------------- thanks for clarification! fox www.feel.ch
Guest guest
nisargadatta had a fiery temper. ramesh reports that maharaj was upset at someone and ramesh asked maharaj why he was angry. maharaj said, " who's angry? " it's a myth that sages will present the other cheek automatically. a sage is not a push over. negative reactions and anger by the body/mind is also part of " what is. " the sage knows his true identity and his anger passes quicker. even ramana was upset at times. if he was being badgered incessantly with complaints against the ashram management by the visitors, ramana sometimes stayed silent or helped or gave a cynical response or scorned the seeker. " the power of presence, parts 1, 2 and 3 transforming encounters with ramana maharshi, " by david godman has plenty of such stories told by the devotees. hur Nisargadatta, " fox " <feel@f...> wrote: > Is it true that Nisarga claimed the following: > > > To me nothing ever happens. Guest guest
If you found a consistent view, then you would try to adopt it, portray it, imitate it. " What is " has nothing to do with adopting, prescribing, or recommending a consistent view.
