The last ox herder picture: returning to the marketplace. Gazing into the eyes of unity ( our own eyes) is wonderful, but doesn't pay the bills. I think Ramana got stuck on the nine step or picture. That's why he rejected the bathtub and the spoon. He probably made the conscious choice of becoming the poster boy of absolute detachment. I'm not putting him down, nor implying the superiority of your realization. There are tall Buddhas and short Buddhas. He was a giant, you... a mini-me. ))) Pete New DSL Internet Access from SBC & http://sbc.
Guest guest
Hi Bill, Society, the hierarchical organization of individuals, in order to promote survival is prior to humans and prior to language. Knowledge, the memorization of actions and events doesn't require language. Many animals acquire knowledge. the where and how of obtaining food and the use of simple tools. Language, of course catapulted knowledge and society to a completely different level. Human knowledge is undergoing its own separate evolution, one that soon our brains would be incapable to accommodate. Here comes A.I. Or, that was how manifestation was to occur, in that space-time portion of manifestation. > I'm not putting him down, No, of course not. One can't put any aspect of manifestation down, for it is whole, as you stated earlier. > nor implying the > superiority > of your realization. Yes, my realization must be quite inferior. I acknowledge that. In fact, I have no clue about it, no clue that anything was realized, or that there is anything that someone should realize. I work day to day with ordinary suffering people, and a big part of that work is relating on the same level -- certainly I'm no one special, and no claim to even exemplify mental health as a poster-boy, let alone something as awesome-sounding as " realization " -- Yet, still, reality is whatever it is to me. So, whenever I speak, what else could it be but " my realization " that I'm speaking... What choice? By the way, it's been fun for me at times to meet those promoting their realizations, and really into giving a good performance of what it is like to awaken ... gleaming eyes, self-confidence, calmness and equanimity abounds, of course. I sometimes think of a story I read of someone dying of AIDS, having a deep sense of realization, but struggling just to breathe and interact in a kind way. People often notice what is shiny and bright, what is dark and obscure evades them. >There are tall Buddhas and short > Buddhas. He was a giant, you... a mini-me. ))) Yes, I'm just a mini-me, looking for some mini-marshmellows and a George Foreman grill. Just wandering around in this portion of space-time, fullfilling whatever it is that manifestation is manifesting here, who can say why or wherefore? -- Dan
Guest guest
Yes, information processing occurs on the sensory-kinetic level before higher-level cognitions are formed, and is transmitted as sensory input, and encoded and retrieved as such. Very powerful preverbal learning occurs for humans this way. -- Dan Nisargadatta, pete seesaw <seesaw1us> wrote: > Hi Bill, > > Society, the hierarchical organization of individuals, > in order to promote survival is prior to humans and > prior to language.
