Guest guest
Riddles at best are koans. Such as, " What is the sound of one hand clapping? " They stop the mind. And in that silent split second something may happen. ..

Guest guest
That piece by swamy about the riddles was fantastic. life is always considered a mystery...once it is "solved," it was never really a mystery at all. fantastic. thanks for that "aha!" swamy. Guest guest
Koans at best are questions that deepen looking, Until it is realized that this very moment of space-time experience is utterly the koan. There is infinitely more to *knowing* than silence of mind, or even disappearance of mind. It's just that words reach a limit, like bubbles floating in air, and " pop " ... Dissapearance of mind is what can be said about that " pop " -- what can't be said would fill millions of volumes of texts that will never be written ... -- Dan Nisargadatta, " Elizabeth G Wells " <elwells8@e...> wrote: > Riddles at best are koans. > > Such as, > " What is the sound of one hand clapping? And when I am not, and everything else is not -- who can then say that anything has disappeared? Well, Dan, total nihilism is totally absurd. If the above were true, what need would there be for you or your mind or the absolute disguised as Dan to deny anything. The fact that you are denying any existence is it's very proof. Pete >

No one is saying that when I am not, and everything else is not, that anything real was eliminated. Look into the relationship of existence and nonexistence and then see if affirming existence makes any sense. Look into the reciprocal role of affirmation and negation and then see if there is any such a thing as affirming reality or negating reality. Reality and unreality also have a reciprocal relationship, by the way, which the Cheshire Cat knew and smiled about. Spacepeace, Dan
