Guest guest
The only problem is a habit! If my theory is correct then 'enlightenment' is easy And so far it is working for me. What is this 'dirty' habit? It is the habit of referring everything to a 'me' ... We have formed a habit from a very young age to refer every thought or event to a 'me' Every object is passed through this 'me' This 'me' which is in the brain cells, a phantom collection of thoughts perhaps ... Thus this fictional character invented by your mind has become the central part of the story. All that is needed is to knock this 'me' off center. All that is needed is mindfulness or constant attention to cut the ties of what happens or the thoughts [or feelings] that come not to be referred to this 'me'. What is needed is the giving up this habit as one gives up habits like smoking! You see a beautiful woman [or man] the mind starts churning out a path to your 'me'. How 'you' might want to impress that person, etc. New scenario: A beautiful person is seen, admired ... and the thought chain going towards your memory and 'you' is cut off. You listen to the news and 'your' chain of thoughts bring up your memory and prejudices, which in turn bring out emotions of anger, etc. And 'your' story goes on and your 'me' [your seperation] becomes stronger. New scenario: The news is watched. The chain of thoughts is cut off before all the prejudices and emotions can make you into the central character in the story. Nothing that happens is personal. Slowly the strangle hold that your 'me' has on you is weakened. Things just happen. Your memory and 'you' are not dragged into the happening. This dear friends is the path towards 'liberation'. The enemy is the 'me'. [Perhaps in the future it could be surgically removed? :-) ] In other words stay in the now as much as possible. No daydreaming or worrying about the future or regrets about the past. All this only strengthens the 'me'. Jan Sultan ps: [No copyright ... copyright for whom? Jan Sultan refers to a fictional character :-) The real me is you all! ] pps: [i put the name so there is no ambiguity as to who is responsible for this garbage. Some will be happy[?] to know that this is no copy-paste!] ppps: You know what I mean ... so no smart Alec remarks.
