Guest guest
The seeker brings to the search his hunger to acquire. The desired objects had changed, had become intangible, spiritual, but the hunger to acquire is the same. Now we want knowledge, bliss, wisdom, peace, virtues, eternal life, you name it. We are this hunger, this dissatisfaction with the present. We are like a hungry ghost with no mouth. As long as we pursue realization though acquisition,it will elude us. Only when we realize the path is a way of denudation, of shedding, of loosing, of becoming less and less, are we heading in the right direction. Look inside, even when we have abandon all our opinions, beliefs, and goals there remain a subtle expectation, a looking over the rim of the present to peek at the immediate future, like a child on tip-toes in front of a counter fool of toys. Even when we abandon all expectations there remains an urge to control and manage our conscious states. All urges and thoughts revolve around a center of identification. It doesn't matter what we identify with: a gross personality or a divide concept such as That. As long as there is identification there is a center, a dynamo for the creation of duality. When the dynamo vanish all that remains is " the here and now " with its silence, its infinite space, light, peace and emptiness. An emptiness that is fullness, an emptiness that contains absolutely everything, including those things we casted away. The discarded thoughts and emotions, the desires, the fears, the former self. All are there, now harmless because without an owner, a center they have no power to attract or repel. Be dissolute, go ahead, dissolve. Pete Y! I really like this, Pete. I like the, " all that remains is the here and now " . What else IS there? Only Now is real. And this: > The discarded > thoughts and emotions, the desires, the fears, the > former self. All are there, now harmless because > without an owner, a center they have no power to > attract or repel. To me this says, " In the Now humanness happens. " Yes, let us be Dissolute, in the Drunkedness of Now. -Bill pete seesaw [seesaw1us] The seeker brings to the search his hunger to acquire.
