Guest guest
Yes, andrew, and I wasn't taking any issue with what you wrote. Just tinkering with the wording is all. I certainly don't object to the word " I " being used. Incidentally, does the body-mind unit known as " andrew " have persistence? Or is that a groundless assumption? Regarding a " sort of willing suspension of reason " ..., what is the basis of the willingness? Is it a rational basis, or .... I'm not asking these questions cynically at all (which I try to never do), but just to draw out more a bit of what you are saying. -Bill andrew macnab [a.macnab] Friday, November 01, 2002 3:21 AM Nisargadatta Re: Re: Bill's Now (Machismo) The body-mind unit known as " andrew " , which refers to itself as " I " as subject or " me " as object, takes care of its daily business. In order for this process to occur, an assumption of identity takes place in this bmu; even though the knowledge of the assumption's groundlessness may be present; in a sort of willing suspension of reason. That's what I'm saying. andrew billrishel wrote: > > > I am the way things take care of themselves. > Interesting comment. > A variation I prefer: > " Things take care of themselves. This wordy shit always turns back on itself doesn't it? > Regarding a " sort of willing suspension of reason " ..., > what is the basis of the willingness? Is it a rational > basis, or .... Love. As NM put it, reason tells me I am nothing, love tells me I am everything. Actually I have fallen in love in real life this week which has upset a lot of preconcieved notions and other applecarts There's no sense of control here, this life-ride has taken a delicious turn and I am overwhelmed with gratitude (to whom or what unknown). andrew > I'm not asking these questions cynically at all (which > I try to never do), but just to draw out more a bit > of what you are saying. > > -Bill > > andrew macnab [a.macnab] > Friday, November 01, 2002 3:21 AM > Nisargadatta > Re: Re: Bill's Now (Machismo) > > The body-mind unit known as " andrew " , which refers to itself as " I " as > subject or " me " > as object, takes care of its daily business.
