I think << no mind >> and << emptiness >> are exclusively in Buddhist speech. This is the difference (at least in exposition) between Buddhism and Advaita. Guest guest
No mind is pure emptiness, rest, peace, intense awareness. It's not something to be understood. It's a quantum jump of that feeling of being you have right now, to a new level in which, being and not being merge and are realized. Since that can't be aprehended by the intelected. It's most likely that it will be realized while meditating. All you have to do is sit, rest, subside, be silent, be aware, lie there like a cat by a mouse hole all eyes, all ears, tail twitching, whiskers trembling, ready to jump. Guest guest
Pete, This reminds me of someone's characterization of meditation as " sitting and watching the tiger play " . The key vib I get from your message is the playfulness. Which is the key vib I get from just about all of your messages. -Bill pete seesaw [seesaw1us] Saturday, November 16, 2002 8:58 AM Nisargadatta No Mind No mind is pure emptiness, rest, peace, intense awareness. Is the commentary an effort made by the intellect in order to solidify and possess existence? Can the intellect masquerading as an 'I " ever enjoy life, or any of its experiences? Trying to perpetuate experiences by translating them into words is a fool's errand. The immediacy of life can never be recreated by words. The commentary is backed up by very powerful emotions and these emotions give substance and meaning to one's life. Guest guest
Yes, maybe the need for commenting should be examined. The commentary is backed up by very powerful emotions and these emotions give substance and meaning to one's life. However, this meaning is based on limited memories and can become very rigid, narrow and repetitive. /AL Commentary is not always of the NOW but analysis is. Analysis is done by the trio - ego, nerves, mind - . To be or not to be.-- Shakespeare To do is to be.-- Nietzsche To be is to do.-- Sartre Do be do be do-- Sinatra What has been quoted against Sinatra may be a joke but look closely and you may find how it makes fun of intellectualism. One may try to understand the reasons why we are here and about the " ME " and other things but there is one constant..Its only Life happening! and commentary or no commentary - nobody can outguess Life... /M Vote for the stars of 's next ad campaign! Guest guest
I like to see it as we are Life itself - and Life cannot probably outguess itself! :-) /AL ! hehe :-) Zat is right! The more experiments we make the better...that is how we will be what Jesus said we should be - BEING IN THE WORLD but NOT of IT. regards M

I guess we must realize ourselves as the Unmoved Mover of the world, that timeless clear space from which all arises, and then we will experience the world but not be a part of it. Unplug from the material Matrix so to speak, so that one can enjoy the material Matrix from the viewpoint of the One. :-) /AL > > > > > > > >
