Guest guest
This is a new forum. Before the net, if you decided to become a seeker, you'd have to go to a teacher, or read on your own. Here, we have a new opportunity open to us- 'the group search.' We discuss, we lecture, we encourage, we attack, we polish each other sometimes gently, sometimes roughly, like pebbles tossing about in the surf. Hur, Sultan and Hovila have the wisdom to let it happen unimpeded. Other moderators try to play referee. In my opinion, unless things get really offensive and destructive this is a mistake. Those of us who think they have a view point to share need to have those view points challenged if we are to sort out personal opinions from facts. Aggression is part of reality, to create an artificial ahimsa list is just another way to perpetuate self-delusion. It's too early to tell whether these forums will produce more enlightened people that the old teacher student relationship. I think that in the end some of these lists will become themselves a communal cyber-super-guru, in a way superior, to any flesh and blood one. Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
