Guest guest
>living in a communist country: the government confiscates the riches of the rich and distributes it evenly -----Karta >-not that I wanna live there Hi Karta, I don't know how you made that leap to politics or if you meant it as a joke. But..If that wasn't a joke, as a political statement, it's as naive as they come. No government on Earth has ever distributed their budged evenly. If the communist had done that, they would still be in power in Europe. In fact, communist countries tend to have the most corrupt bureaucracy in the world, simply because they hold absolute power and have no free press to expose their abuses. Now about your feud with Judy, let me tell you a little Zen story. Bare in mind I'm not one of Judy's fan. I'm simply commenting on the situation as I see it. This two monks were about to cross this swift river, when a young woman asked one of the monks if he could help her across because she couldn't swim. The monk Lifted her and carried her across. The other monk was aghast. How could his friend had broken his vows of never touching a woman. Nevertheless, he resolved to say nothing and observe noble silence, but he kept thinking about it and became more angry at his friend with each step. After many miles of walking in silence, he finally shouted: 'How could you act so disgracefully with that woman? " The other reply, " Are you still carrying her? I left her at the riverbank. " For how long do you plan to carry Judy? Let her go, she must really be weighing you down by now. You need to free your mind of her if you don't, she owns you. .. I grew up in Hungary and climb literarily on my knees among land-mines to freedom to democracy.. and now I see this country turning into its opposite.. into what reminds me of the terror of control the communist system besides being corrupt just takes away the normal drive to make something out of yourself a doctors salary was equal to anybodies it was like organized castration thanks Pete, for the Zen story and for taking your time to be kind to me ----love, Karta > In fact, communist countries tend to have the most > corrupt bureaucracy in the world, simply > Zen story. Karta -- What you just wrote shows a lot of insight in my book. I enjoy reading your posts, and watching you sort through all these reactions. Anyone expressing this kind of rage has been through a lot. This seems like a safe place to find someone to tear down, and then you may even look at what that desire to tear down is about. A thought that occurs to me is: I want to destroy so that I won't be destroyed. My destructive anger is an affirmation of my being. If I look into it that way, than rage isn't bad or terrible -- just another way that life attempts to affirm its being as an organism, in this case, a human being. If I want deeper understanding than the rage, then I have to look " beneath " the rage, to the life energy itself -- That energy animates you, me, Judi, squirrels, the sun ... That energy isn't separable from the space it moves through. Space is energy and energy is space. Now, I am at peace, regardless of whatever feelings and tendencies play themselves out. Whatever plays out, I can look into, drink deeply, and know peace. This peace doesn't mean I don't go through my life, it just means all the apparent oppositions aren't opposed. This includes the opposition of destiny and free will, determination and uncertainty. Those aren't opposites, not really. Determined to be uncertain, Dan
Guest guest
Dear Karta, many years ago, i was listening to a tape by Joel Goldsmith.... someone had given me during an extremely trying/brutal period of my life...I was hoping to find some comfort, but instead got a little more 'tearing apart'. In it he said, God does not come to heal the dream, God comes to shatter it. " i freaked! during this period i was led to my favorite jnani and the 'light' of advaita started seeping in the cracks. Again, this past year, another 'heavy' situation arose, in which my daughter was seriously injured and given a grave diagnosis as a result. i got sucked into maya big time and when i got spit out... felt hung over from having been sucked in... it seems it doesn't matter what the circumstances or how serious, the prescription is the same for all...don't be fooled by 'appearances'. i had my fun go rounds with judi a while back...i know what it can be like...don't take her seriously...she's sometimes a !@#$%^ image appearing in maya : ) love, jess - <mi_nok <Nisargadatta > Friday, February 21, 2003 12:34 PM Re: skyhero/karta > > No government on Earth has ever > > distributed their budged evenly. You don't really need to dig, though. " This " is your own being, before it gets caught up into its various forms of wanting, fearing, connecting, disconnecting, under all these disguises, like Dan, Karta, whomever ... Coming from your own being, your prior condition, you are now free to express as you are ... Freedom *is*, Dan
