Guest guest
Hi Jade, What do you honestly know is true within? Even from your scientific background or perspective? In looking at your surroundings, you see many different physical structures, made up of different densities, different colours, different textures, different shapes etc. This is what makes up our environment, the physical universe. In taking a microscope to these structures we see that they are built up of finer and finer structures. We name these structures molecules, atoms, sub-atomic particles, right down to the structureless quantum, the invisible unit in which wave forms may be emitted or absorbed. So the entire physical universe is simply a sea of quantum, an ocean of this emptiness, manifesting itself in form. This is raw reality. Existence as is. Is the solidity of a rock not mearly a perception? Is a rock really solid? To a microscopic form of life, the atoms are miles apart, and it is anything but solid. Microscopic life could waltz right through the middle of a rock without a second thought, while we would continue to perceive it as solid. What makes our view more factual and reality based than this microscopic being? Colours are just varying wavelengths of light, of which we can only see a certain spectrum. A snake is able to see ultra-violet rays, but we can not. Dogs can hear higher pitched sounds that we are able to. So reality exists as is, but must be experienced through the only form we currently have available to us, our physical bodies, which shapes our very experience of it. When we have an issue, where does it exist in this reality? When we are offended or annoyed by someone, what is this offence or annoyance we feel? Where does it come from? It does not stem from what is real. It does not stem from absolute reality. It stems from " our own personal " reality. It's all about what we want, what we think is right, about how circumstances effect us, about " our " truth, our reality. And it is an illusion. It stops us from " knowing " truth. When you look at what you honestly know is true within, what do you see? You may say that you do not see anything, you do not " know " anything for sure. There is only one way to know absolute truth, and that is by internally letting go of your illusion. When you are letting go internally and resting you head inside, what is it you are letting go of or resting from? It is always letting go of an illusion, of an issue or activity you have been holding onto. It cannot be anything else. How can absolute reality be let go of? It just is what it is, as is. You cannot change or damage absolute truth. Holding energy is always false, it is ego based, no matter what it is you're holding into, no matter how positive or loving that issue may be. So if you think you don't " know " anything, just look at that tiny, tiny little bit you do know is true, and that is to just let go. As Nisargadata puts it: " To know that you are neither body nor mind, watch yourself steadily and live unaffected by your body and mind, completely aloof, as if you were dead. It means you have no vested interests, either in the body or the mind. " You can not let go much more than that Toby > > > Larry, > You have got me wrong. > My knowing or not knowing is relative to the topic in discussion. > The topic(s) of discussion in this forum is/are understanding > the " self " . > It is to this field of " self knowledge " I confess to know nothing in > particular. > > Yes I can type this post and yes I can even perform the most > intricate surgeries in the OT and oh yes i can also understand what > BS stands for .I know all these and more....but what I am really > after...I havent understood at all. > Jade. > P.S-thanks for your BS anyway. Guest guest
very nice, Toby! mira In looking at your surroundings, you see many different physical structures, made up of different densities, different colours, different textures, different shapes etc. This is what makes up our environment, the physical universe.
