I simply contribute these thoughts to put out my position on enlightenment. >any realized being can say i eat< If the realized being were speaking in everyday sloppy language it could, but it would be aware that the statement is inaccurate, the body eats, and he/she is not the body. I doubt realization would say I’m realized, because realization is infinite awareness and openness, and an (I) or an identity is a center of experiencing which is in essence a limitation. An ego big or small knows only memories and when it says, I am enlightened it means, I remember certain experiences I now categorize as enlightenment and claim for myself. It might be useful for the ego to do this because it puts it on a straightjacket, it forces the mind to be more aware of the delusion of owning anything, specially, spiritual experiences. Guest guest
p.Let me start by saying that nothing I'm going to say below is intended to disprove your assertion that you are enlightened. I simply contribute these thoughts to put out my position on enlightenment. d.ok, thank you, i appreciate that attitude ------- d.any realized being can say i eat p.If the realized being were speaking in everyday sloppy language it could, but it would be aware that the statement is inaccurate, the body eats, and he/she is not the body. d: yes, thats true, the body eats...but i don't think that all *realizer* necessarily think abut such matters...which reminds me of the first time i ever had a similar thought.about 2 years ago..i had written babaji a letter asking how the health of his caretaker was,,,he wrote me she was fine but her two legs wouldn't carry her...i thought that was so odd at first...because i am so used to hearing statements like..she can't walk or she's fat..etc etc...i think it's a cultural thing how indians translate,,,but it's intersting lanuage and communication, and it does make perfect sense.. P. I doubt realization would say I'm realized, because realization is infinite awareness and openness, and an (I) or an identity is a center of experiencing which is in essence a limitation. devi: you can have as many doubts as you wish...i once asked a woman what she thought liberation was and she said the ability to bi- locate...material and dematerialize... p. An ego big or small knows only memories and when it says, I am enlightened it means, > > I remember certain experiences I now categorize as enlightenment and claim for myself. devi: who do you think is enlightened,? is adyashanti enlightened, according to you no,,,because after his enlightenement he went back and remembered his childhood growing up and things his teacher said to HIm.and put it in a written form...even nisargadatta always remembered what His Guru said to HIm..it seems to me that you think enlightenement is amnesia? when i went to see my Guru after many years of not seeing Him, He remembered me from the past... p. It might be useful for the ego to do this because it puts it on a straightjacket, it forces the mind to be more aware of the delusion of owning anything, specially, spiritual experiences. devi: the ego has a lot of useful functions, it's not the enemy, p.
