Guest guest
Hi Devi,>devi: you didn't understand my question..smiles..i was wondering which *realized beings* that we can read about or talk about such as nisargadatta, or ramana or meher baba..do you consider >enlightenend.. > P; I guess you didn’t understand my answer. (: ‘There is Nirvana, but no one enters it.” Supposedly, these are Buddha’s words and I’m in full agreement. So a personality called Maharaj, Ramana, etc had to dissolve on entering final liberation. We keep calling them by that name and they responded when alive to that name, but it was merely for communication’s sake.> P. But you are right, memory doesn't vanish, and I didn't say it did. It is the sense of ownership, which vanishes.devi: how do you know that,,,your speaking as if you are *full and >totally enlightenend* are you? P: if I define enlightenment as undivided existence, the possibility of assigning that to a body/mind entity seems as absurd as to say a wave is the whole ocean. We could say ‘a wave doesn’t really exist, it’s an undulation of the ocean, but we could not seriously imply a single wave could become the ocean. So no, I don’t consider my mind, or body enlightened. Life has become very easy, often blissful, no fear, no suffering, and no getting upset over insults. Nothing and no one inside my head worth defending (:. There is this insight of existence beyond life and death, but I don’t claim ownership of any of these gifts. They are not mine to give away, to hold, or even to comprehend. devi: i don't understand this *claiming space* idea..what do you mean? and do me a favor,,talking about monkey pee is offencsive to me, keep the topic to human beings and leave out bodily functions.. P: I think my previous paragraph explains what I meant. Claiming enlightenment is like a pot claiming the space outside itself. The pot is the limitation, and can’t claim for itself neither the space inside nor outside. I’m curious how you explain being enlightened, and yet being offended by bodily functions. I certainly will refrain from further mention of those very healthy activities because I want you to enjoy our exchange as much as possible. Best wishes, Pete

Guest guest
devi: you didn't understand my question..smiles..i was wondering which *realized beings* that we can read about or talk about such as nisargadatta, or ramana or meher baba..do you consider enlightenend P; I guess you didn't understand my answer. devi: i understood your answer...but...you really didn't speak perfectly to my question...you went off on some abstract tangent P.(: 'There is Nirvana, but no one enters it. " devi: i can be said that it's enterd into, or it can be said that the veil or door is lifted, you are so abstract...! P. Supposedly, these are Buddha's words and I'm in full agreement. devi: according to meher baba, the buddha made a mistake P. So a personality called Maharaj, Ramana, etc had to dissolve on entering final liberation. devi: yes of course, if you want to be technical P. We keep calling them by that name and they responded when alive to that name, but it was merely for communication's sake. devi: that's all? just for communication..what about for just life in general,,,? P. But you are right, memory doesn't vanish, and I didn't say it did. It is the sense of ownership, which vanishes. devi: how do you know that,,,your speaking as if you are *full and totally enlightenend* are you? P: if I define enlightenment as undivided existence, devi: i have no idea what you mean by undivided existence, i wonder if i ever had divided experience? whats the difference? p. the possibility of assigning that to a body/mind entity seems as absurd as to say a wave is the whole ocean. devi: i don't understand that P.We could say 'a wave doesn't really exist, devi: that would be a lie, the wave exists just as much as the drop and the ocean P.it's an undulation of the ocean, but we could not seriously imply a single wave could become the ocean. devi: sorry, the wave is the ocean and the drops are the ocean, theres is nothing but ocean p. So no, I don't consider my mind, or body enlightened. pete: Life has become very easy, often blissful, no fear, no suffering, and no getting upset over insults. Nothing and no one inside my head worth defending (:. There is this insight of existence beyond life and death, but I don't claim ownership of any of these gifts. devi: so your comfortable with your being but you have not gone to nirvana and come back to tell us about it? hmm, so you have given up your search and have settled into mediocity? pete: They are not mine to give away, to hold, or even to comprehend. devi: whats not yours? that all doesn't make any sense devi: i don't understand this *claiming space* idea..what do you mean? and do me a favor,,talking about monkey pee is offencsive to me, keep the topic to human beings and leave out bodily functions.. P: I think my previous paragraph explains what I meant. Claiming enlightenment is like a pot claiming the space outside itself. devi: that's sort of ridiculus to me, no offence pete: The pot is the limitation, and can't claim for itself neither the space inside nor outside. devi: interesting,,,,but, the pot and the space outside are ultimatly made of the same *stuff* it's all light particles...and no, thats not my realiztions, i have only read it and understood..if it was a real realization i would be able to put my hand through a wall..but some people can do that because they *realized* that all is made of God stuff... P.I'm curious how you explain being enlightened, and yet being offended by bodily functions. devi: i live in a world where manners are still considered necessary. if you were a pervert i certainly wouldn't hang around,,do you have any understanding about self-realiztion at all? pete:I certainly will refrain from further mention of those very healthy activities because I want you to enjoy our exchange as much as possible. devi: thanks, i appreciate it, Pete
