Hi KKT,

KKT: << Causes and effects >>are the way used by Buddhiststo explain everything.

P: Lots of people do that, including scientists. :)KKt: But do you really believe << causes and effects >> >as a << strict >> law ?

P: Interesting question. Why do you always ask questions I’m dying to answer?

Is there such a thing as a law, outside law books? What we call laws of nature are just the way things seem to happen, but there is no guarantee that they will continue to do so in the future.Kkt :If this were the case then>we fall into the sinister law>of << determinism >> !

P: Why sinister? Do you feel threatened by it?KKt: Who says << determinism >>says << lack of freedom >>

P: So? This is all academic. If you choose fish from the menu and believe you have free will, you’ll get the fish. The guy at the next table believes In determinism and he orders fish, and gets his fish too. So, beliefs don’t alter reality.KKT: Even the Buddhists said thatnobody could know all the causesfor an effect to happen exceptthe Buddha since this problemis very complex.

P: Yes, that’s what I say also, minus the Buddha bit. I don’t think Buddha knew either.

KKT: Enlightenment should be the << breakthrough >>>The breakthrough of causes and effects!>And this is the miracle! :-))

P: Use your head, man! (: Enlightenment, Nirvana is, now and everywhere, but

no one enters it. The Buddha himself said that, so for whom is this silly exemption called miracle going to happen. People, despite their pious prattling, deep down want personal power, personal survival, personal glory that’s why they cling to the idea of enlightenment being Special. That’s why even good Buddhists like you refuse to believe the Buddha when he tells them: I didn’t obtain anything at all from complete, unexcelled enlightenment. (:

Deep gassho,

Pete
