Guest guest
When Shawn held his seclusion-weeks of meditative internet chatting, pupils from many parts of the world would log-on to attend. During one of these gatherings, a member was caught claiming enlightenment while typing rubbish in the chat group. The matter was reported to Shawn with request that the culprit be expelled. Shawn ignored the case. Later the member was caught in a similar act, and again Shawn disregarded the matter. This angered the other members, who drew up a petition asking that the member be expelled, stating that otherwise they would leave in a body. When Shawn had read the petition he called everyone into the chat group. " You are wise brothers and sisters, " he typed to them. " You know right from what is not right. You may go somewhere else to chat if you wish, but this poor group member does not even know right from wrong. Who will teach them if I do not? I am going to keep this member here even if all the rest of you leave. " A torrent of tears cleansed the face of the member who had been typing rubbish. All desire for claiming what is not had vanished.

All desire for claiming what is not had vanished. What a creative imagination Toby!! I certainly claim no last say here. While it can be said that no thing can point to evidence of realisation, much has been said about the apparent obtructions to it. And if some lucky one exhibits behavior continually that the obstructions are alive and well, isn't it more compassionate to point them out rather than let them slide and thus play a part in the (or even reinforce) the delusion? It apparently was not only I who saw this! Namaste brother )))))))))Shawn
