Tell me, do you think that if we stop all internal chatter that this is enough, that all else will follow?>TobyHi Toby, Thanks, glad you like it. I didn't paste that. Of course there is no Pete who wrote that, it wrote itself in a brain called Pete. If you noticed, lately 'I' have been on a rant about words. Writing the verbal prison, Verbal madness and a couple of others. I do believe the way we use words, the value we give to words, the power those values have to provoke emotions and actions distort the way we see and understand. So yes, stopping the interior chatter will create a tremendous openness, and the question you asked a very important one. But to be completely free, to stop suffering dead on its tracks you must turn on its head society's value system. This doesn't mean becoming amoral, or lawless, on the contrary. It just means, you strip the value from certain loaded words. Let's say you accidentally stepped on someone toes, and the guy despite you saying sorry called you 'a stupid mf.' If you see clearly this words have no value in themselves and the guy is just retaliating by verbally stepping on your foot, that he doesn't know you, and this is a baseless judgment on his part, then you walk on, and don't give it another thought. If you are on the look out for word's values and the responses they trigger you are on the road to freedom. Thanks again, Pete
