Hi That, might I ask you the obvious question - if you feel that way about being

on a list, why are you on this list?

To drive you off . When you are all off the list , I will dissappear.

Take it on trust , for trust is in the heart not the mind.

I fear THAT is correct

I must leave this list.

But if I leave this list

wouldn't THAT say I was

wrong to think the list

and leaving was about me.

I think therefore I am on the list.

Even more is to *be* with absolute honesty.

Toby,

I am struck by the lucidity and resounding solidity of

what you say here.

And it seems to me you have put your finger on a very

significant distinction:

There is a certain fragility in 'trust'.

'Trust' is " because of " or " based on " something else.

In contrast, 'knowing', as you say, stands on its own.

Knowing goes to the core. It simply Is.

RE: All ye are damned to life!

Trust is similar to faith, it assumes there is something to have trust or

faith in. When one is operating out of a belief system, as you seem to be,

trust is necessary, yes, trust in your belief, as your belief cannot stand

up on its own. When one is residing in a knowing, however small that

knowing may be, trust is in no way necessary.

Toby,

Am astonished by these words by JDR. They say so much

with such elegant luminousness.

And, who is JDR?

RE: All ye are damned to life!

Bill,

Interesting you should comment. You pick up on things because of first hand

experience, not because it " sounds " like a good argument.

JDR was once asked of the seemingly close relationship gratitude has with

Truth. To roughly paraphrase, his response was something along the lines

of:

" Where there is a love of what is true, a separation, drawn toward oneness,

there is gratitude. And devotion is the in between flow. When one is truly

being what they know, there is only oneness, there is no separation, and no

gratitude. "

Similar subtle distinction...

John de Ruiter.

He's an incredible, enlightened being whose presence will melt you to

the core. I find his deeper teachings to be more profound and more

direct than Nisargadatta's.

However, opinions do vary.
