Guest guest
Words have meaning. They stand for something, but it’s more than that because a word, conjure feelings, emotions, memories, and ideas associated with an object. We could, reading about the sexual act kindle sexual desires; reading a religious text kindle a religious feeling. Religious people considered the former bad, they don’t see the similarity, they don’t call reading a religious text to stimulate a pious experience, spiritual pornography. Words have value and we seldom question these values handed down to us. We don’t see the terrible power behind certain words: Country, God, Religion, Honor. People have been killing each other for centuries over this words. People ready to kill and die to defend the honor of their country believe they are fighting for something real, tangible. This power, words have of creating a mirror world, a mental universe, is the virtual prison, the verbal soup in which we stew.  Although, we aren’t aware of it we no longer see things in themselves, we see only worthings. A worthing is a mental atom, which has as its nucleus the object (a tree) encircled by all the layers of associations that the word tree evokes. To see a pre-verbal world, a world as we saw it before we learned the meaning of words, is a liberating experience.  Liberation is a process of regression to not mediated, direct awareness (awareness here simple means cognition of information) and for that to happen the verbal virtual world must loose its hallucinatory power. This doesn’t mean we must renounce words, it simply means we must see through their power of distortion, their empty promise to disclose the essence of things.  Best wishes,  Pete

Again, you are not understanding what is meant by understanding. We can only understand objects in their relation with one another. That's all understanding can do.Can you taste your own tongue? Guest guest
Also right but It makes me think about artificial intelligeance. Think about it and it will soon happens. Robots, computers, will start thinking what they are programmed for until in few decades or more will will find a way to make them learn by them selves. then the first spark of consciousness of how the machine works, the first spark of body-mind consciousness. Then the robot will simply be without questionning him self at this point it just can't but after mastering the process it will start to ask him self Who AM I? AM I just a metallic robot, am iI'm just thoughts, AM I just consciousness. When you the robot will be turned off. Will that mean that he is going to join the absolute reality in Nirvana or some stuff like that? If you destroy the robot. Will he reincarnate? Who is the robot anyway?!? No-thing or nothing. The robot cannot die because he never been born?!? You know what I mean? It comes from nowhere, go back to nowhere! and is no-thing but at the same time at a certain level is a semi-conscious robot lets say! I reminds me of someone trying too hard to understand the pur-being! ha ha ha!, me! Don't worry it will happen! They have already started. electricity have always existed. But we just recently we understood how it works and we master it now. We fly in planes. cellular phones etc. The ressources were there but not the knowledge. People tought before that the earth was plane, not round. I'm not saying that this is the ultimate truth. All you said is the truth. but I simply think that there is more! Then to be the pur-self without the Self powers of understanding of its reality. Can I walk on water? NO so I'M not the Self that is all ? NO? or the Self is ignorant of what he is. You cannot master something that you don't have created. If the Self has created the universe then the Self must when awaken, be able to master the universe. I'm talking of the possibility to do it not that if it is the case that the Self would change anything! If I have legs I should be able to walk if I want to. If I have legs and I can't walk with them maybe it is because I'm not the Self finally or because I'm a new born child! I don't know! Maybe after all I don't wanna go home yet, and I still want to continue the life game?!? thanks! Oscar, Nisargadatta , Pedsie2@a... wrote: > Words have meaning.
