This is not about doing a "technique" as it is more to do with the the desire to know the truth about *who* or *what* one is. Is that what you really want? Thoughts come up and feelings too, and instead of being carried away by the thought or feeling, see who does it appear to? If you still want a great experience, then you will naturally be carried away by thoughts and feelings in hope that that is where the quenching of your desire lies. You must become fed up with experience---ALL experience is temporary, so you naturally turn away from them and give attention ( bakti) to the *one is witness* to it all. ALL thought is not you- watch it and thereby be not attatched. If the thoughts are too many and too fast and you get carried away by them then it is recommended that you use breathing and concentration on the breath to calm the mind and then use the self-enquiry. Japa also helps to concentrate. You must want it bad!!! You must see how you are a bundle of memories and learned behavior...an actor playing the part of "you" and yet have taken his "part" too seriously! You can change parts anytime. You are always already free, you are not the one you think yourself to be! The great seperation between you and God is thought up, untrue! This desperado in search of fulfillment is already whole and immagining otherwise. BEFORE you think about it, you are fine, already happy, love itself. Your limitations are merely believed in. You are free to stop and notice this at anytime and the more often you notice, the more it is natural for you not to identify with the body-mind. Pondering over his words is a good thing, my friend. It will lead beyond. Maharaj is with you. )))))Shawn Excellent, Shawn! Gassho, Pete
