Guest guest
....After Mario's beautifully honest confussion over just exactlt " what is the practce, " I have a couple of thoughts to share. 1) The desire to get it precisely down a s a matter of simple practice is not a simple thing to do, and the very desire to " get it in stone, " is something the ego, as you, as a sufferring differentiated being, one who assumes seperation, is always up to. It is itself a symptom, even an archtype for our suffering. Ramana would say, " Who wants to know?! " Find out who it is that wants clarification...are you the same one that was as a five year old...obviously not, but something about you IS the same. 2) Sri Niz (as I affectionately reffer to him) tells us to hold onto the feeling of being, of I-amness, but if we are confused as to what exactly this means, I think one must go to Sri Ramana's teaching of , " find out who you are. " or if you feel uncomfortable going to another source, see where Sri Niz talks about this: about the young you, the child consciousness. The thought of seeing loved ones after death is interesting only as a way of examining who you might imagine " you " to be or for that matter; who do you imagine your dead father to be, ...will he be a nineteen year old as in the movie , Field of Dreams? The thing about these Men, these particular sages is that really they are not consoling. They are tigers. The truth will rip " you " to shreads and leave you altogether naked. Ahhhhhh! You're right Pete, geez (strangly it's not cold, but then again I am in hawaii and it isn't cold) ))))))))Shawn I always look at these two sages as very complimentary and essentially saying the same thing.
