Guest guest
People are fascinated by their own thoughts. Watch their eyes, their walk around lost in an interior landscape. Sometimes, I have to look away. Their suffering is so obvious, they are the prisoners of their own past hurts, their eyelashes are iron bars. Do they notice how visible their misery is? Nothing I could say would help. They not even hear me say good morning, they walk pass me without seeing me. It's this fascination with thoughts and memories that constitutes the veil. And only if the spell is broken would there be a chance to see. But how to break it? Constant mindfulness is a way, but is not easy. It requires great perseverance. You have to get bored with your own drama. Yes, bored stiff, sick of your own petty story. There is an instant in the morning just on waking up, in which you are no one. Nobody, clean, new born. Then, whoosh- the memories flood in- the hurts, the hopes, the plans, and the old you is reborn. Best, Pete

Too bad you can't just get rid of the past by claiming it's over and done with. Just don't work that way. Like a 600 pound gorilla, it ain't done with you until it's done with you ...
