Guest guest
They had come from all over the world to hear him speak. After the normal insence filled silence.... he began: " Well " he said, " It's kinda like a bunch of pieces of broken mirror.....all strung together....... He waited .......... There was no response from the group " OK " he said, " How about this: How about a whole lot of semi-precious stones held together in a net like thing? " He was loosing them........several had fallen asleep and the back row had emptied out. " Alright........How about jewels....yeah....real jewels....reflecting each other...... " Jewels " they said in unison.. " Yes, jewels " ....and looked at him with adoring eyes.

Could you please tell me what this post meant to you?......< I heard it on a couple of levels, but primarily.... that people are hungry to see (or hear about) how they are beautiful....or special. And until they hear that....really get satiated with that.....they don't much have 'ears' for anything else. For me, that used to be the appeal of the "new age" message. I lapped it up like a puppy drinking milk. And I tended to only adore people who treated me that way. Melody

In the past, I was never overly fond of teachers who told me the way it really was. The older I get....the more UG appeals to me... I've had altogether too many sweets in this life....LOL

I really haven't been inclined to read anyone after really saturating myself in Osho and Ramesh for a while. But, out of curiousity, I just opened a page about UG, and......if the following is any 'taste' of what he offers, I'll look forward to reading some of his stuff. "You know that there is something different about U.G. Krishnamurti when you read the disclaimer on the first page of his book, "Mind is a Myth": My teaching, if that is the word you want to use, has no copyright. You are free to reproduce, distribute, interpret, misinterpret, distort, garble, do what you like, even claim authorship, without my consent or the permission of anybody. This disarming introduction may elicit a bemused smile, but it hardly prepares the reader for what follows. To read U.G. is to be introduced to a "spiritual terrorist": he overturns all of our accepted beliefs -- God, mind, soul, enlightenment, religion, humanity, heart, love, relationships -- and gives us a totally different picture of who we are. The result is a grenade in the brain." * Hey....I'm all for a grenade in the brain. Do you have a favorite you would recommend? * http://www.well.com/user/jct/
