Guest guest
Sandeep, Thanks for the comments. To be honest I think I am searching for a way to " overcome " this mind but, having understood the mind only wants to perpetuate itself by any and all means possible, this search is like you say, " picking yourself up by one's own boot straps " ... What I have also come to realize is, while I claim to be burned out from my years of religious searching and most welcoming to " stop the search " (in theory), in reality I am addicted to the search as I find I can't stop studying this Nisargadatta, UG, etc line of thinking. These ideas are like a new lover. Even as I run to the newsgroup to see new posts, or as I print UG books off the internet, or talk to my wife about " the mind " , I see clearly that I am operating in the exact same way as I have been all along when it comes to " searching " ... all the while knowing I can't kid myself about it seeing as the way the mind works to perpetuate itself has now come to light.. " I " just can't seem to stop fondling this mind. What is worse.. is now " I " know what the mind/interloper is up to and I see how serious my condition is... I am finding it very hard to " stop searching " ... mind, mind go away.. Guest guest
Dear Steve, I hope you don't mind that I too will answer your mail. I was searching for 35 years and it was fun. Why shouldn't you have fun too ? If your search begins to get boring you will find another hobby. And if one day your complete ego starts boring you then you will let go the ego and life goes on like it already does. Why bother ? Just live, do what you are doing and stop being your own judge. Guest guest
Dear Brett, It would have been wonderful if I could have met you 40 years ago. I could have saved a lot of time and energy. During those 35 years I mentioned I wasn't constantly searching, most of the time I was chasing girls.
