Guest guest
i saw on Sandeep Chatterji's site " the-covenant.net " someone who said that scientifically no owner was found in the brain... that was a shock.. not to you? because i cherrish my brain because it rhymes with vain and then came the " realization " that, on the other hand, from without, the mind is no more than the point of contact with the " manifested world " , of course, the mind 'is' the manifested world, but bear with me for a second. senses are seen as projected or receiving between mind and world; a sense is the " function " to perceive the manifested world (of course when i say manifested i mean noumenal/phenomenal); now consider what Nisargadatta says about our overestimating our biological needs; the senses are the tool of overestimation, sending us at a distance to the manifested and making a big deal out of this distance and considering it as a threat or as a welcome protection. we are making a big deal out of the world because of our senses. our sense are the border between us and the world as the skin is our border between environment and body. the harder the facts the denser the mind. no senses no worry. eriC

Senses don't do any of that. It's thought, the " mind " that says something is a far or close. The eyes, ears, nose,... none of those have anything to do with processing.
