Guest guest
I got to this talk by Wayne Liquorman and it helped me to understand the misunderstanding of jesus teaching by his followers, and the aparent discrepancies between Nisargadata and Ramesh pointed by some guys. What do you think? Wayne> Certainly, the organism has memories. > But you yourself are not those. Wayne> Well, this is how Maharaj spoke - as a teacher, not as a businessmen, not as a beedie merchant. He spoke from the standpoint of Consciousness. He said, " What I am is this Totality. That is what I truly am. I am not this limited thing. What I am is awake even when I am asleep. What I am was never born and will never die. " Maharaj is dead. I've been to where they cremated him. So, he's not talking about the meat, he's talking as a teacher, as a pointer to something. Of course, the people sitting around are taking it literally; some of them, not all of them. But many, especially when he's not there to clear up the confusion, take it literally. The notion that is absorbed is that Maharaj, that animated piece of meat sitting there, is God, is Consciousness; somehow, he's different from everybody else. And that is not the case. That organism that we call Nisargadatta Maharaj was born to particular parents, lived, married, had children, had a business, and he died. Along the way he talked, and along the way this event that we call enlightenment or awakening happened through him as another event in the history of the organism. As a result of that event, people came and asked him questions. In order to point to the nature of things, he spoke from the standpoint of the Totality. I could do that, if you want, but it's not how I normally conduct the talks.
