Guest guest
The question about the origins of the universe, life and consciousness is an open invitation for scientists and philosophers. No one expects seriously to find an answer, which could be published the next day on a scientifical journal. There is an epistemiological circle, which begins and ends with mind or consciousness. We are the physiscist by which an atom can contemplate itself. We are the mirror by which a flower, finally, is able to rejoice in its reflection. We are mirrors suspended in the sky reflecting infinity. We create a world by ideas & concepts and it would be therefore ridiculous to believe, that wewould be able to explain the world by ideas and concepts. Nietzsche was somehow right. Zarathrustra had to swallow the world in a single blow to gain freedom and peace. To leave, to transcend the realm of concepts & ideas is the only way out of the circle. The hardest inquire and examination in this endeavour is, to put aside the notions of a " me " and a " mine " . But, even before that happens, it is possible to smell a little the aura of freedom. It is that odour, this unbelieveable fragrance we appercieve in the upanishads, in the bhagavad gita, in the sutras, the bible, in many other writings and in all the mystical scriptures including nisargadatta and ramana. Music and art are expressions of this wonder too but, at last everything, without exception, is a reflection of this miracle. The only thing required to experience that, is to to put ourselves a step aside, to let the mirror reflect something else than ourselves. In our occidental cultures science & philosophy had lost their original and primary function. We are reaching the end of the aristotelic era and going back to the roots, where philosphy and science took their point of origin. Another epistemiological circle are beginning to close itself but, we have learned very much in the meantime. We have learned that nothing excludes nothing but in our minds, as long as they are deluded and stubborn. Both experimental, scientifical efforts as well as contemplative attitudes don't exclude one each other. Dogmatism or bossiness have neither concerning science nor in transcendental matters a justification. Actually everything is easy to understand, if we hang for a while our occidental graven image, fetish and deity, rationalism, on the wall of the museum, where it belongs. There is a wind of great humbleness and common sense blowing through the archives and files of science, philosophy and religion, despite or precisely on account of the unbelieveable discoveries of the last decades. There is actually nothing we need to be afraid of, there is nothing to fear but our human stupidity, bias and prepossession. We are actually living in an incredibly interesting time, an axial-time again, in my opinion. Enjoy it! best wishes sk
