only Nisargadatta has the ability to inspire a group like this one

where no one speaks like him or debates his ideas (he never had any);

on other guru based lists, most people speak like the Master and this

is a bad sign.

why do you love nisargadatta? It would be funnier if you would hate

him, a little at least. Some folks say you can only love what you

somehow also hate.

How about this, imagine...Nisargadatta was a guy with an Asperger-

syndrom, who somehow found a cure by his spiritual teacher and

practice. Up to a specific point he positioned himself outside the

game. He dissociated himself completely from life. Thereby he gain

the advantage to never loose. A game has always a winner and a

looser. There is a proverb somewhere, which says that if you loose

everything once and for all, you will have no more problems.

Nisargadatta found a cure for his disease. That's all. Don't know

why some folks make a cult out of it.

Cult? What cult?

Don't people have to agree on *something* before you

can have a cult?

Re Nisargadatta, can't imagine what that " something "

might be.

Bill the definition of a cult is made by those who come later, Our

Lord Jesus Christ the Saviour of Humankind did not design a cult for

Himself nor does He enjoy it now (i had Him over for tea yesterday)

I dunno why I love Nisargadatta. I just do. I think he's cool. I read

somewhere where he said any thing that can be percepted is not you. I

thought: How simple & direct; how undeniable. I don't think my loving

Nisargadatta is a cult. I love alotta people. Unless love is a cult.

Then maybe what I'm doing is a cult thing. Even if it is, it don't

really matter to me.

I was being rather subtle eric.

What I meant was...

can you imagine the members on this list agreeing on

anything? Seems that " Nisargadatta people " are

particularly unable to concur on much of anything : )

Hence a Nisargadatta cult seems highly unlikely.

But we can all disagree about that I suppose : )

Nisargadatta is death. What you bring up here, is a sentence he

probably said. How do you think he came to the insight that anything

that can be percepted isn't you? Simplicity, directness and

undeniability are attributes which can impress, fascinate someone

perhaps, but, these qualities per se wouldn't make me love somebody.

If anything you can percept isn't you, is your perception of love

towards Nisargadatta you or not you?

Nisargadatta is death. Nisargadatta is life. Nisargadatta is all

things to all people. Blah blah blah. Whatever. Nisargadatta is just

a reflection of YOU, sk. Everything you are saying is not about

Nisargadatta but is about you.

If I say I love something, it doesn't mean I'm possessed by it. I

love ice cream. But it's not an obsession. I think you are

complicating things here way beyond what is necessary. I love

Nisargadatta. I love ice cream. I love warm spring days. It doesn't

mean it's " me " . I'm just making conversation. What's the big deal?

Right. This " sk " fella is making a mountain out of a molehill. I love

Nisargadatta. I also love hiking in the mountains. So what? It

doesn't mean I'm in a cult.
