Guest guest
I've been on this forum a couple of weeks or so. So far, I haven't encountered anyone who is into Nisargadatta or Advaita. So far, all I've encountered is a Buddhist, a couple of people who admittedly don't know what Advaita is & a couple of people who are openly hostile against Nisarga Yoga. & also, Sheila, who posts politically correct anonymous quotations & refuses to enter into any kind of dialogue. It's most peculiar.

Guest guest
Did you search the archives, the files? Even a Niz yunky like you can OD on all the stuff that's there. The guy is dead, the funeral is over. He's not returning his calls. We already read all his books. So, we are counting on you to channel him. Get busy. Tell us something we don't know. Guest guest
How many times does the term advaita appear explicitly in " i Am that " , Danananda? Advaita is, when you don't talk about it. sofa-surfer sk
Guest guest
So. You are into Nisargadatta? It's hard to get a straight answer out of anyone on this forum. Everybody seems to be in hiding. I haven't read any of Nisargadatta's books. I don't read books much. I glance at em. Self-inquiry is so easy, what is there to read? Just do it. Guest guest
SK? What! No ad hominems? I've never read " I Am That " . Advaita is just reaching a non-dualistic point of view. It can easily be talked about. Ramana, Beedie Baba, Ramesh, Papaji, & all dem groovey rishis talked up a storm. They were good like that. Guest guest
I was into Nisargadatta. I was into dentistry too when my tooth was hurting, when the dentist took it out, I forgot about him. I'm glad I don't need him anymore. I don't talk or write about my dentist. Same with Niz. Have you asked any straight questions? Your first statement read you were crazy about Niz, now it turns out you haven't read any of his books. What are you crazy about, his looks? I asked you to share with us the result of your inquiry. Are you going to give a straight answer to that? We get the impression you came here to test yourself, rather than to share. Nisargadatta , " danananda2004 " <danananda2004> wrote: > So. Again you don't read carefully before you respond. sk said that you don't talk " about Advaita " . Ramana doesn't talk " about advaita " . Advaita is not a " subject " , is not an ism. Guest guest
Yeah. OK. I went back to look for your post where you asked me a question. The reason I didn't reply was the answer was in the post you responded to. I explained to Bill what happens if you zeroed in on the " I " . Go back & read it again. Your answer was there the whole time. I never said I was crazy about " Niz " (Niz?). I said I loved the guy. He makes me laugh. & yeah. He's funny lookin, too. Sittin there, with a grin, smokin a beedie with a big ol stain on the front of his shirt. He's a trip. And the stuff he says. He knocks me out. He's great. I didn't come here to test myself. I came here coz I thought y'all would be into Nisargadatta & stuff like that. But it seems like most people on here are burnt out or something. Like you said, you see him as just some guy who pulled your tooth & now you've forgotten about him. What are you into now? Did you try his method of focusing on the " I am " ? It didn't work? What up? Nisargadatta , " seesaw1us " <seesaw1us> wrote: > I was into Nisargadatta. I was into dentistry too when my tooth was > hurting, when the dentist took it out, I forgot about him. Guest guest
Ramana talked about advaita for decades. He even wrote poems about it. He's all over da Net. I thought you weren't gonna talk to me no more? (jest kiddin, Bill; come on back; who luvs ya, baby?) He's all over da Net. > > I thought you weren't gonna talk to me no more? (jest kiddin, > Bill; come on back; who luvs ya, baby?) > Ramana doesn't talk " about advaita " (as a topic). What he talks about is " called advaita " . I don't recall Ramana refering to " advaita " per se in anything of his that I have read, and I have read a fair amount. Perhaps he does mention " advaita " here and there, but that is not the same. I didn't say I *wasn't* going to talk to you any more. I do expect " dialog " or I don't bother. " Dialog " ...to me... means paying attention to what the other is saying and responding to that. In our previous discussion I didn't see that happening, so as far as I was concerned that conversation was going nowhere, and I said, " end of discussion, " regarding that conversation. This is an unusual list Danananda. It is pretty " mental " in orientation (my take). The conversations here are pretty " dry " . The old-timers here are pretty hard-hitting. The members don't get real " chummy " on this list. Just my impressions, for what its worth. No value statement in any of the above, btw. For myself, the two teachers I resonate with the most are Ramana and Nisargadatta. To me both speak directly and succinctly to what is most important. There are a number of members of this list that are very " deep " . They don't " showboat " , and it takes a while to get to know them. But beware of underestimating anyone on this list. Much wisdom lurking just under the surface here. One can learn a lot here if open to it. If not... then nothing to learn here. Bill
Guest guest
Hi, Bill. Alright, then. I was just trying to stir up a little action on this forum. I'm kinda like a kid in a candy store. Ramana, Beedie Baba, Papaji & all em groovy cats are new to me. I like em. 'At's all. If you wanna talk about the Buddha, then, I will talk about the Buddha. I was more interested in talkin about " you " , at the time, but I probably shouldn't have been so pushy. When I say Ramana talked about advaita, I mean he taught non-dualism. Whether or not he used the literal term " advaita " was not the issue. Thanks for the positive vibe, dawg. I'll hang around awhile & see what develops. Lator, gator. Peace out Nisargadatta , " Bill Rishel " <plexus@x> wrote: > > Ramana talked about advaita for decades. He even wrote poems about > > it.
