My golly man.

Can't you be a little more polite?

Also, this is buffet style. You don't have to like every dish.

Are you saying that *no one here* should partake of Sheilah's post?

How can you speak for everyone?

If you don't like it you can just delete. No problemo, yes?

What is bothering you?

This really seems not to be about Sheila at all.

It seems to be about Eric.

I think everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

It is called " human decency " .

That is her choice.

I would like to see her talk with us more, but for me it is a wish,

not a demand.

She epitomizes xyz *to you*.

If you were to own your statements, by saying,

" To me she is.... " .

But " decrepitude " and " aids in Angola " are *insulting* remarks.

As for lack of imagination, I don't agree.

ok Bill i don't want to look insulting i'd like to

trade " decrepitude " and " aids in Angola " with " politically correct "

and " scared of her own soul "

Hello everybody

I don't need an apology, I am not offended at all.

I just hope Eric has learnt something from all of it.

Well, my dear, I must hand it to you. There must be more to

your snippets than meets the eye, if they provoke such

reaction in Eric. No doubt, he's examining that reaction

and finding some useful insights.

Good work!

At times it does seem to be mostly that.

This list seems a bit on the cerebral side,

if you ask me... which tends to be about

" ego dance " . But doesn't have to be.

Try posting something that isn't, and see

Maybe somebody has already digested EXPLORATIONS into the ETERNAL by Ramesh S.

Balsekar. If you could turn to page 189 and find the following thought:

In other words, human beings - whathever they may think - do not live and

exercise volition but are entirely " lived " as such.

I understand that all the phenomenological duality is just a mechanical dance of

appearances in consciousness... however, from the absolute perspective, the One

that exists has to have volition, which is maintaned while this manifestation

apprears through " humans, " otherwise it would not be possible to maintain

consciousness that requires some navigation and directing of the focus, at least

in the realm of concepts... Any thoughts?

We offer proof that we " lived " our life by providing memories and the

occasional photo or diploma as hard evidence. But someone with

amnesia can not offer this proof. In fact, they can not be convinced

that they did live their life.

So proof comes from memory, and not from any real thing called 'a

life lived'. The past does not exist and so can not be supplied as

evidence.

So one could say not only is there no exercise of volition, but there

is no life 'lived as such'.

Ok Ok enough BS - - what about Free Will. Even if we had free will,

how could it overpower the seemingly almighty force of nature. Once

a single celled organism on a slide told me it had free will. I just

laughed. (I felt generous and spared its life!!)

A couple of nights ago I twas at a perty and I asked an old friend

how she was doing. She replied " I take shit, and I give shit " . I

think that about sums it up.

which is nothing but Consciousness.

The dancing images as appearances have no independent exsitential reality to

them.

The thousand " wave(s) " in the Ocean, appear, distinct, separated from each

other, each appearing to have an individual existence.

However pick up a " wave " and all you will have in the plam of your hand, is the

Ocean.

The relevance of volition arises for I, when there is something which is not-I,

isn't it?

Thus the scope of volition for I to reach, attain, achieve, realize,

...........the not-I, making the relevance of volition only within the gestalt of

a becoming, of duality, wouldn't it?

If all " becomings " , if the very gestalt of duality is itself a notion, an

ideation..........

When I am all there IS,.........

.........when I am the alpha...................I am the omega,..........and I am

the becoming of alpha to omega,..........

............ALL simultaneously,..........

.........can volition, be of any relevance to I?

Yes.

Just this moment, which in the very attempt to capture through cognition,

has already slipped into mnemonic cells.

The real question is not free-will or pre-destination, but who is it, for

whom is the issue,..... between Free-will and pre-destination.

There was a response to my query pointing out that:

" The real question is not free-will or pre-destination, but who is it, for whom

is the issue,..... between Free-will and pre-destination. "

I alsoappreciated humor embedded in a cute reframe of " I take shit, and I give

shit " to " Shit Happens. "

In fact it seems to be very profound stuff: if I got it right, the whole point

about free-will/predestination is again a dance of concepts and appears to make

sense from the point of view of phenomenological context of the virtual subject.

(I use 'virtual' to mean the same thing as in computer science: virtual does not

exist but appears to be as " real. "

Thanks.

PS. What about this one: " Shit happens.. but is there anybody to give a flying

f...? "

Yes.

Posit a self,..............and give birth to the issue of free-will versus

pre-destination,...........in fact give birth to all issues.

Including the issue of seeking.

Not suggesting that such fun and games do not teem within phenomenality.

Final Truth

--------------

There is neither creation nor destruction.

neither determination nor free will,

neither path nor achievement,

This is the final truth.
