hey Pete :)

thanks for the warm welcome,

thanks for holding no grudges.

you mean there are no dictators like Gene Poole here?

Gene, you here? :))

about spamming, nothing to worry bout,

i did all my spamming in noby's list, and got tired of it.

i got kicked out of NDS because Gene tried to argue with me

and failed miserably.

then, to have an excuse for kicking me out,

he accused me of 'cross-posting' messages from nds.

i mean, what kind of offence is that? :)

the rest of the lists i left myself

cause there was nothing interesting going on.

noby's list, nonserious and light as it is,

is much more exciting most of the time.

The Buddha and buddhist preachers are two different things, of course.

the ultimate concept, the only 'concept' of buddhism is that of 'emptiness'.

and what kind of a concept is that?

i think you are perfectly right - it is a no-concept, an anti-concept, a

concept-killer.

this is why the Buddha was called 'caste-breaker' in his lifetime.

his teaching destroyed the prejudices and beliefs of all existing religions.

moreover, he spoke against blind faith and constantly encouraged personal

inquiry.

in short, the Buddha rules. :)

> Of course his job was mental. He used his mind to teach.

precisely. he USED the mind.

the difference between an unenlightened being and a buddha

is that the unenlightened is identified with the mind,

whereas the buddha has gone beyond the mind

and for him the mind is just a tool.

the mind is his communication device, that's all.

it is not his 'being'.

from this point of veiw,

no buddha talks FROM the mind,

cause his being (whatever that is) is beyond the mind,

he talks WITH the mind but not from the mind.

this is what i meant when i hinted that a buddha's 'work' is not mental.

>No one alive is beyond the mind.

is a buddha alive?

what is it to be 'alive' ?

are we 'alive' ? :)

they say a buddha lives in 'deathlessness',

in the 'eternal'.

in 'pure consiousness'.

what is our life compared to that?

they say it's an illusion.

what is 'life' ?

hard to say. :)

nice talking to you

dabo

The only way to understand a buddha is to become a buddha.

(a buddha)
