Guest guest
It occurs to me to share some of my " distillations " from Krishnamurti going back to when I was first studying him some decades ago. These are all very simple. Putting into practice, however, is arduous (his word). Meditation: Practice meditation, but not as meditation per se. That is to say, don't give any drama to the practice. Don't make a " thing " of it. Simply " sit " and be present with what is for you. How to sit - Sit cross-legged or in a chair. Preferably sit erect. Sit so your body is relaxed and comfortable. There is nothing special about sitting cross-legged and for many sitting in a chair will be preferable. What you do - Do nothing but observe. Do not try to control your thoughts. Simply observe them come and go. Notice everything, not just the content of your thoughts. Notice how they arise, notice the " space " between thoughts. Notice " how " they flow, etc. You can similarly practice simple observation while driving, washing dishes, etc. Eventually you will find that you can practice this kind of " mediation " doing anything. At that stage the intentionalness " as meditation " has dropped away completely and it has simply become a way of life. Bill
