We all say the same thing over and over. All is one, there is no separate entity. What he says about effort is right too, except that just sitting and feeling oneself be, is not effort or even practice. It's what comes naturally, but people re not natural anymore. Cats & dogs and all other animals do it, though. Pete
Guest guest
yeah... i like that tony parsons... he kinda goes against the grain... he's going against the traditional school of thought like u find in nisargadatta or in ramana maharshi... those guys would tell you to do this or to do that, meditate like this or focus like that & so on & so forth... but parsons is saying since there aint no you to begin with, there is nothing you can do... like u, i can't find anything wrong w/ this analysis... Guest guest
....well, some cats & dogs r fupped duck, too... i have seen some real neurotic dogs who r cooped up in the cities... ....yeah... meditation is effort... effort to get what??? to find one's self? the self is meditating so it can find it's self??? what's up w/ that??? do u mean i com e on here & say the same thing over & over & over, pedsie??? that's sad... r u saying i am predictable?? like a statistic, a demographic? am i a number, not a name? jeez... is this all there is??? what has happened to us, pete, that we have sunk so low? r we not men??? but, generally speaking, i think that tony parsons is right... we come on here & we say " i, i ,i ,i ,i ,i ,i, i ,i ,i... " forever & a day... ....we just keep re-inforcing that ego consciousness... it's addictive, like gasoline... it's not even a consciousness... it's more like a fiction... ....a mythos... ....a will o' the wisp... But there is no path one can follow. If you are destined to become a sage you will just as you are destined to be a seeker. There is nothing that anyone can do to hasten it or attain it. " Then he has been known to go on and say if you have a choice between a million dollars or enlightenment, take the million dollars. Then there is someone left to enjoy it. Guest guest
yeah... i see what u mean... ramesh was moving in that direction... alot of people r moving in that direction... but parsons doesn't talk about destiny... how can there be a destiny for that which does not exist??? here is where parsons parts with ramesh... parsons claims there is absolutely no meaning or destination whatsoever... it is all quite arbitrary...
