Advaita texts say and even Nisargadatta says in his talks that " when one has the correct knowledge jagat(waking world)disappears " What does this mean? Jagat disapperas? does it mean you dont see the nor hear. nor smell or it simly means that intutively you view all happening in consciousness like objects in a mirror??? what was maharajas views on this??.................Dattoham Giri

With respect to what the sage sees vs. you and I, it's the same input....but they understand fully that it's an illusion and they don't get " involved " as we do. One of the best books I've read that answers these questions (how is it for the sage v. we ordinary types) is Ramesh's book " Confusion No More " . PS. somewhere I was told that Nisargadatta spoke in his language (can't remember exactly what it is..starts with an M) and the fellow that translated/edited the book " I am That " was Polish and together they came up with the book in English. Anyway, it really helped to know that was part of my confusion PLUS...Maharaj was addressing a particular questioner...so the response to one person might appear to be different to another questioner because the context and the questioner was different. No wonder I got confused...:-0 I WAS :-) RL, FPI..........finite portal of the Infinite

Imagine the Now as extended vertically as a vastness of all immediate particles of sense experience. Imagine then being so compressed into that vertical extension of Now that the horizontal extension disappears. There is COMPLETE absorbtion in the sensata of Now. Consider further that all actions of the *apparent individual* " magically " arise for any/all occasions. In other words, even though attention is completely absorbed into the sensata of Now, all the normal behaviors are handled automatically as they arise naturally. Such is bliss because there is no distress about conduct, which itself is the source of all suffering. The natural state is bliss, but is covered by an illusory suffering due to distress about conduct. Bill
Guest guest
Thanks for a great explanation . It needs further clarification. By right knowledge the " apparent individual(seperate and different from nondual consciousness) disappears once and for all or the tendency to attribute seperate individualness due to supposed (maya or prakarti) is seen as an existential trick and hense being does not associate with it or does not give importance. In other words individualness is observed as one of the appearences but being learns not to be deluded by it??????? Are you saying that even after knowledge the particals or jagat (appearences ) arises but the only differnece is, it is not being observed by a seperate individual but happens as a spontaneous apperance in consciouness.meaning the apperances do not disappear but they are not happening to anyone. They just " are " as " consciousness is " ?????? WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS PLEASE????
