Guest guest
To put it simply.. Anything that is a function of Space & Time is Unreal That which is independent of Space / Time is Really Real. Murali, dattohamgiri [dattohamgiri] Wednesday, June 02, 2004 10:05 AM Nisargadatta Intutive thoughts to m y own question...disappearance of appearances after Jyana That which is so real to the senses in an unawakened, for a jyani is unreal(illusion)..for by discrimination and application of knowledge jyani knows that the appearances can not have an independent existence of their own, without the consciosness being the substratum of all appearances. Hence he sees them as unreal , although ones senses do perceive appearance. The disappearance is only of they being " real and seperate independent realities " . Real meanning that was , is now and always be. ever present.needs no other cause for its existence............Unreal ...meaning of temporary nature .needing other causes for its manifestation. any comments to this insight....fellow Advaitins. Datto, a Jhani entertain no such notions as real and unreal. He only uses those concepts as teaching tools. The jhani 'knows'conciousness is another appearance in What Is. No thing has separate existence, things seem to arise and vanish as a whole. And of the Absolute nothing can be said. If you said is real, you lie; if you said is unreal, you lie; if you say it is, you lie; if you said it is not, you lie. Pete

We often think of science as hard core facts. Here I go again: everything observed is of the past. Only your awareness is not the past. This is what science says, but what mainstream science has missed is that time is only now. A changing past gives the appearance of time passing. The future comes from your awareness and beams out from yourself and creates the manifested universe. You are the only one who is not in the past from your point of view. I am the only one not in the past from my point of view. This is the same one awareness which is the source of the future. The future does not come to you, the future is constantly being radiating from your own awareness and out into a seemingly solid world. /AL

Having location is to be bound by space/time. Thus, to be free, is to be unconcerned with one's dependent and interdependent space/time reality. Therefore, one subsumes and transcends all of space/time without having to be independent in any way. One picks up the garbage and deposits it in the garbage can. Thus, one is free. Trying not to have to deal with the garbage, is to be bound. -- Dan
