Guest guest
Seeking what you already are is an insoluble problem. It's a problem of lack of recognition. Easy to make when you have fallen into the error of specialness. In this error you posit a special self above your ordinary self, adorn it with the perfection you crave, such as immortality, constant bliss etc. and give it a supernatural name such as Atman, Soul, God etc. Naming is a wonderful ability, this capacity of assigning names to objects has made us humans, by manipulating such names we created language, improved the ability to think and gave birth to imagination. But with imagination comes the ability to name things that are not there, such as a unicorn. And there has been many explores who ranged far and wide in search of unicorns. So how many unicorns have our ancestors created that we still don't recognize as unicorns? Could atman, or soul be one such unicorn we still seek? A problem, simply stated is an imbalance between the way things are and what you want. This obviously, creates unhappiness. On the other hand, when there is perfect coincidence between what is and what you want, there is perfect happiness. Maybe, perfect happiness is what we call the atman. If this is so, we must see the futility of creating special problems by seeking after empty names, things that do not exist, and above all things we already are.
