Guest guest
Timeless insight and choiceless awareness go together. This also goes together with the experience of oneness. The thinking mind can experince the present moment only in a way like trying to balance a pencil on its tip. The intellect together with memories and feelings floats restlessly around in the mind but can never touch the newness and the zero-second thin slice called the present moment. When that thin timeless slice is touched there is choiceless awareness because the intellect, which is a separate chooser cannot survive as a separate entity in the direct connection with the timeless moment. This timeless insight blows away the imaginary personal past and future because the experience is then filled with the present moment where nothing *and* everything that is going on is happening simultaneously, instantly, rather than as the intellect looking forward and backward in time. So there is a direct contact in the form of oneness. It is choiceless because oneness is a total happening, and when there is something total, something full, then there are no things to choose between. In choiceless awarenss choosing happens as a manifestation of fullness, and not as an experience of a separate chooser. Similarly, planning for the future happens as a manifestation of fullness, and not as an act done by a separate intellect. I haven't realized this timeless insight myself, but I feel that it can be explained in this way. /AL
