Guest guest
Dear Scott, Thanks !! your note made some things more clear to me or rather re-inforced to me what in my heart i think i already knew. Thats is what I meant too. We cannot stop doing but we need to get out of our way and learn non-doing.., we can however do what we do with innocence. By innocence i mean we dont let this trio of ego, nerves, mind etc feed us but approach everything afresh..and as you say - let the mind be transparent. Non doing does not come naturally because we have all been raised in the value of strugggle and effort. Some of us play better or reach higher goals when we are tired out. This is the tough route to non-doing. I had fought as hard as I could until I had no strength left. At that point once the struggle had run its course, the wisdom of the body took over and the the solution will just come from that centre that resides in our core, our sweet spot. Become acquainted with that part of yourself that is beyond reaction, that is calm , centered, knowing, skillful and always in control. Our ego has never delivered those qualities to us so why not stop asking it to. We all need to find our sweet spot within which is our Centre and Core - the Self. It is there for all of us and we belong there and path to it takes no effort at all. Non Doing is just a way of remembering who you really are. Your are not the struggle and you never have been . You are the Knower. So just know that you are!. Thanks for listening and sharing your knowledge M Scott Andersen <sga_email wrote: Hello there, > How do we overcome this crowd and get off this rollercoaster ? We need to get out of our own way. To truly get out of your own way, We must master non-doing. Non-doing is not non-DOing. We cannot BUT DO. What is non-doing? Non-doing is not being dragged around by reactionary thoughts and mentation, not letting the mind dwell on anything at all, so that all is completely transparent. If the mind is transparent *wisdom* follows, wisdom in behaviour and choices. We must not stop or try to stop DOing but stop the mind dwelling or sticking and reacting to events and circumstances. This non-dwelling includes non-dwelling on the past present and future. In 'normal' people a puppet like body gets pushed and pulled to and from events, likes and dislikes, action and reaction, most are not aware of the effects of their thoughts upon their life. Like and dislike, hate and love are caused by a thinking ME, that pushes and pulls things toward and away from itself. Ideas and thoughts push and pull empty mind / bodies who think of themselves as being what they are not. Mind impacts mind and empty bodies move in the mind of 'God'. A body never moves itself, thought drags it around like a puppeteer. Consider the consequence of everyday thoughts and the reactions to others, concepts and thoughts and so on. No-DOing is completely transparent non-dwelling and non-sticking to thoughts, events and happenings, that sees clearly through reactionary thought and thought habits.
