Guest guest
Bliss is uncaused joy. Happiness is an emotion that is dependent on some external event. For example, if I win $10.000.000 on lottery, then I will feel happiness. But this happiness is an intellectual response. The universe is capable of giving you the same happiness and much more - all the time - without any cause. Just a tiny trigger of a certain gland, and bliss is activated effortlessly. What hinders bliss is happiness, i.e. the emotion triggered by 'external' events, and the longing for happiness, which is the longing for a 'cause' that will activate happiness in you. Bliss is mindless joy. Not in the sense that you become a drooling vegetable being in a state of bliss, but a state of intelligent awareness and effortless attention to what is happening in which there is utter clarity and unshakeable peace. I hope. Happiness is a lowgrade emotion. Event if you manage to get all your intellect wants, it will still be a lowgrade emotion and your perception will still be dim. Bliss is of a much higher quality and a totally liberated state. So, how to find this super-high, this supreme intelligent extacy where your body become light as air and every senses sharp and clear as a brilliant? The answer is that you must throw your ego into the dustbin. Only when you become totally fearless can this bliss be activated in you. Sounds impossible to achieve? Only to the ego. Didn't I tell you that it is the ego you must throw into the dustbin? :-) /AL
Guest guest
Anders, So wonderful what you know about bliss that I really believe you must be in that state already, no doubt. Tell us more, how does it feel ? How can you fall asleep with it, or are you sleeping blissfully ? How is it on the loo when you suffer from constipation, is there some kind of blissful pressing ?
