Guest guest
Humanity might be on the verge to conquer death. The technique to record all our mental contents to a computer and to replay them to another brain could be perfected in this very century, or the next. Sooner than that our ability to clone ourselves would be a reality. With these two techniques at our disposal, we would have achieved the ability to transmigrate to identical bodies with all our memories. We will no doubt achieve the ability to edit memories, to select emotions, and feelings. In other words, to tailor made ourselves, in the image of our desires. Would that be perfection? How long would it take before we become utterly bored with immortality and having everything our way? How long would it take before we hit the delete bottom, before we choose unpredictability, before we choose death, before we decide it is better to start from scratch without a single memory? And is it not exactly that, which is happening right now?

Boredom is a state of ignorance. The human mind is connected to an infinite number of 'bits' of information. Try to simulate that with a crude computer! /AL
