Guest guest
There is no such " thing " as an illusion. A mirage is simply light waves reflected in such a way that the one who perceives them.....becomes confused about their reality..... There is no mirage.....only light wave mistakenly interpreted. Mind mistakes something for something else.........and yells " Illusion! " " Illusion " is only conceptual confusion. There is no such thing......as an illusion. When looking at the bottom line of existence there is perception of variation, so in that sense a dream and the physical world are the same 'stuff' which is not really some stuff at all. But a dream is another level of perception of variation than the ordinary waking state. Compared to the waking state, a dream is an illusion, and therefore we can say that illusion exists in a relational way. Some people say that there is a level of perception that is 'above' the waking state, and from that higher state of perception the ordinary waking state will perhaps be seen as a sort of illusion (waking up from the dream of thought). /AL

When someone in the desert is dying because he is thirsty sees a mirage, he doesn't say well it is a mirage. Maybe it isn't. Maybe it is a true Oasis. So he thinks it is true a true Oasis. He run towards it happily. It is when he sees that it is not a Oasis but a mirage that he can say; it is a mirage. While he was going to the Oasis he still thinks that it is an Oasis. This is the illusion. The illusion is REEL until there is the truth... there is no oasis. Have you heard the story about the rope and the snake? The illusion is that we think the rope is a snake. We panic and the panic and stress is reel not an illusion. Then we notice something is wrong, let's say the snake doesn't move. Then you start the search. You approch the snake with all the courage you have and then you Realise that it was just the rope. Illusion is reel, but when seen it is no more!
