There is awareness without consciousness ... then 'mental consciousness' comes in and the world comes flooding in. P: It's is very easy for the brain to edit our experiences according to our subconscious preferences. It does it all the time, without us being aware of this trick. It can take an experience that happened just now and project it to the past, or vise versa, it can fill blanks, it can insert context, etc. So it can feel to you you were aware while being unconscious because unconsciousness is a void, and the brain can easily ignore the hiatus. > If you ask me who tries to catch the awareness before you awaken ... I don't have an answer. Only a personal experience of awareness without consciousness will answer that. It's not a matter of right or wrong, it's just a matter of interpretation. There is no way, I could check your awareness against my awareness, or check how my brain distorts any state. We all must take, our 'reality' as the only reality, until such time as it changes of its own accord. Another's reality can at best be only an inspiration, a pointer to a different way of seeing. AS Maharaj said: " AS the Absolute I have no experience of myself. " And another quote from him: " Eknath, a country sage who has written wonderful poems said, " I'm stung by a scorpion " What is that sting? It's the consciousness. This knowingness is the scorpion that has giving me all the pain in the form of the various experiences and concepts. I am telling you with the authority of Jhani, everything is unreal. This is all a play due to your consciousness and your consciousness is due to the food essence body. " Best wishes, Pete

It is a manifestation of you. You are right at one point, but it is not the absolute " You " . Pete is right. Mind, thoughts are tricky, you need to go beyond to see Reality. You need to go beyond toughts, and beyond consciousness. There in the void of the absolute. As written above: AS Maharaj said: > > " AS the Absolute I have no experience of myself. " Not that funny but can we change what we are? :0) Alberto,
