Guest guest
there is no ambiguity/apology/contradiction...all the account tallies....the best intro to the man is his life by Romain Rolland...such a heroic life. we have to salute the LION. my bit goes below- " Truth has such a face that anyone who sees that face becomes convinced. The sun does not require any torch to show it;the sun is self-effulgent.If truth requires evidence, what will evidence that evidence? Like the gentle dew that falls unseen, and unheard, and yet brings into blossom the fairest of roses, has been the contribution if India to the thought of the world.Silent, unperceived ,yet omnipotent in it's effect,it has revolutionised the thought of the world, yet nobody knows when it did so. Religion should be the most joyful thing in the world, because it is the best. Life is series of fights and disillusionments....The secret of life is not enjoyment but education through experience .But,alas,we are called off the moment we begin really to learn. The road to good is the roughest and steepest in the universe. It is a wonder that so many succeed,no wonder that so many fall.Character has to be established through a thousand stumbles. If i do not find bliss in the life of the Spirit, shall i seek satisfaction in the life of the senses? If i cannot get nectar, shall i fall back upon ditch water? The greatest thing is meditation. It is the nearest approach to spiritual life-the mind meditating,it is the one moment in our daily life that we are not material. You must bear in mind that religion does not consist in talk,or doctrines or books, but in realisation;it is not learning but being. Guest guest
na.na.na...of course im biased towards my hero....... but alberto..... dont read him fully if its a prob...but dont miss his Jnana-yoga... he is the patriot -saint of modern india ..it wud not be a exagerration to say that the modern Indian/Vedantic renaissance is his doing...he was ramakrishna's disciple. everybody came after him(famous or infamous)... paramhansa yogoda, srila prabhupada, chinamayananda,Jiddu,UGK,Rajness (Osho)..............ALL. he was the first and the foremost..check him out.he was the guy who came from the east to west before them all way back in the 1880's. of course the timing is important in these matters and having read so much if you read him now ..may be it wont have such an impact... but my sincere view is that you SHOULD chk him out else can consider your " education " incomplete. I think you wanted at that time to know what I think about him? Well, this is my answer now. I think he is a God Realised Master as his Master Ramakrishna was. His universal teaching for all below show the same understanding that his Master Ramakrishna. Compare both it is almost the same Realisation. Let me tell you he didn't arrive there by opening a cracker Jack Box. See below it is at his web site: UNIVERSAL TEACHINGS OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA SEE GOD IN ALL This is the gist of all worship - to be pure and to do good to others. He who sees Siva in the poor, in the weak, and in the diseased, really worships Siva, and if he sees Siva only in the image, his worship is but preliminary. He who has served and helped one poor man seeing Siva in him, without thinking of his cast, creed, or race, or anything, with him Siva is more pleased than with the man who sees Him only in temples. GOD IS WITHIN YOU It is impossible to find God outside of ourselves. Our own souls contribute all of the divinity that is outside of us. We are the greatest temple. The objectification is only a faint imitation of what we see within ourselves. PERSEVERE IN YOUR SEARCH FOR GOD To succeed, you must have tremendous perseverance, tremendous will. " I will drink the ocean, " says the persevering soul, " at my will mountains will crumble up. " Have that sort of energy, that sort of will, work hard, and you will reach the goal. TRUST COMPLETELY IN GOD Stand up for God; let the world go. LOVE OF GOD IS ESSENTIAL Giving up all other thoughts, with the whole mind day and night worship God. Thus being worshipped day and night, He reveals himself and makes His worshippers feel His presence. Why the greatest Masters of all time always talk about God and Love etc. Why not the Void?? HUMM? The greatest Masters must be blind! Who is higher? The buddha or Krishna??? The buddha or Ramakrishna?? The teaching are quit different, no?
