When 'you' say, I love 'you.'

When you say, I love you in an internet list,

what are you really saying and to whom?

Do you know me? You have read only a few posts,

that's all you know. You know only a few opinions,

I have expressed. So when you say, I love you,

Pete, you are, in reality saying, I like your

opinions.

Oh, I know, that out of these few opinions your

mind has fashioned an image of a Pete. But how

realistic can this image be? So when you say

I love you, you are just saying I love the ideas

I have about you. The statement is somewhat

self-serving, it proclaims that you are a loving

person. A lot of people in these lists always end

their messages with 'love,'even when the statement

above the 'love' wasn't very loving.

It pays to see how our minds fashion a pseudo-reality

out of mere scraps of data. And how conveniently the

mind forgets it had done that. When sages say the world

is illusion, they don't mean Consciousness is all,

they mean your mind loves to fool itself.

Pete,

if you could read your messages through my eyes you would be surprised

how much I can see from YOU. I dont know why. But I know it is so. It

has something to do with the fact that we are all not so separated

from each other as we think.

Boy! I'm glad you wrote that! You felt anger in that post? Was the

anger really there, or in your mind? Could not be that you just felt

the post's energy? A deconstructive energy aimed at certain

assumptions? Did you feel the energy was directed against you,

or other people? Could you point to a sentence in which this

was expressed? You, probably objected strongly to my post, and

felt the energy of your objection as my anger.

But let's talk about energy in writing. Most posts in these lists

are so bland. People just repeat concepts they have read, or thought

about. And the readers have heard those concepts many times before.

Their minds are jaded with familiarity. So a lot of energy is needed,

if one hopes, to make the mind notice a point. Have you ever notice

how full of energy Maharaj's words are? How can a book convey such

energy? neither the pages, nor the words can store energy, and yet,

somehow energy appears in your mind when reading them.

So I'm glad you feel that I'm angry. It's not decontructive energy

against any individual body/mind, but against the concepts they are

tied to.

Regarding the kisses and hugs with carolina, we have joked around

like that for years. It's just play, although I have seen her

picture and that's a face no man would refuse to kiss. :))

Thanks for your reply

Hi Donny,

A passionate response,I like that. Energy in a message is always

good. I can tell you feel strongly about love. But are people really

feeling love, when they type love on an email?

> D: If a person thinks they could love your

> ideas, or some aspect/part about you, is that still not love?

P Take a second look at that question. 'Think' they could love?

Is a thought of love, love? Would not 'like' be more applicable.

In English, love is a terribly abused word. I love pork chops, I love

my daughter, I love God, I love this toilet paper, you name it.

D:Then

> what is your criteria for full-fledged love? Must a person love

P:If we are just chitchatting it doesn't matter if we pay much

attention to the words we use. But here, don't you think we ought

to know exactly what we mean when we write?

>

> D: Are you afraid of love? or are you afraid of embracing/loving

to

P: I'm not afraid of anything at the present moment. I have not

been afraid of anything in years. That doesn't mean I could not

be afraid of something tomorrow.

D: Or do you just think we don't

> need love? Have you decided to transcend the idea of love

> altogether and throw it out?

P:Laugh- Donny, I was only talking about saying 'I love you' to a

projection on the internet. I love feeling love, who wouldn't? I

guess I have little imagination. It's hard for me to fall in love

with emails.

Is that OK by you? :))

> >

> How do you know the statements weren't loving?

P: Well, i don't know maybe it's just me, but when people

say, " you are just an idiot, so full yourself and blah, blah...

Love, X-- That doesn't sound genuine, does it?

Good talking to you,

Oh what the heck!, maybe just for you, I could make an exception.

Love,

Pete

I suppose you know it the best about yourself. I for my part can

assure you, I only write " love " when I feel love. Thats how I am.

OK Pete ......you asked for it......but you better sit down........Oh...I see

you are sitting

down..........What do you think so far........ I'm really pretty good at

this......I did it on

another list...and if everybody was honest.....I was well over 1/2 of one %

right on........

So Pete.....this is what I see:

As a child......you liked looking out the windows at school.

You had a small brown dog.....named Ca......... Cuu ....,,

hummmm....something

with a C.....or K.....(I;ll have to come back to that.)

Your favorite relative was your grandfather........I think......on your mother's

side.....yes

definitely on your mother's side.

You considered becoming an actor in high school.......but was not encouraged to

do so by

your parents......

Your hair is dark brown...graying around your ears..........

When you have to wear a tie......... (not often)...you prefer red...........You

have six

ties....two you've never worn.....and one you never will...(the one with the

hula girls)

Your socks are all the same color. (Something about easy matching)

You wear glasses to read...........and are thinking about laser surgery.

You have small scar on your left elbow.....from that argument with that little

Philippino

fellow......

You still think about that girl that sat next to you in High School............

and you like to go fishing...........but don't like to eat fish.

Your favorite color is..........purple keeps popping up..........but ....I think

its blue.......no

blue-green.

You are a little uncomfortable around clowns......and.you're not sure quite

why....

well.......................that's about it.

oh...................I'm getting something about a swimming accident when you

were

ten................no.............that was your cousin...........

so.........you surprised?

Hey...............I don't know where this stuff comes from..........You think

that maybe I got a

direct connection with that askayeck record thing or sumthin?

toombaru

PS .............I just couldn't get the name of that little dog..........He was

a cutie....remember

how he used to............................Oh I better stop.......

Toom you made a believer out of me! You were a 100% right on the

first 3. Then it was all down hill, until the wearing glasses, but

no laser surgery. No, I have not thought about that girl in High

School who sat on my lap in years. I don't even remember her name

anymore.

So 4 out 14. 28.5 % right. Not what ISP experts drull about.

I guess the trick of being a mind reader is to know when to

quit. But it was a lot of fun!

Thanks,

There are different kinds of love, Pete. There is the love that

depends on objects... It is choosy. It prefers this from that. It is

a dependent feeling, desired. This is what you are talking about.

And then there is LOVE which finds itself in all phenomenons - it is

unconditional. When you become aware of this LOVE it makes no

difference if it finds itself in a bird, in a tree or in an email ...

it is everywhere ...

I am not sure what you want to say, Pete. See, I am not against you!

Dont you understand this? I am not your enemy. You and me, we are two

leaves on the same tree. When I will hurt you I will hurt the tree. Do

you want me to prove this by hurting you?

I will remain silent, if you wish. I dont want to be hurt by you. I am

vulnerable.

Remember what I had said:

" if you could read your messages through my eyes you would be

surprised how much I can see from YOU. I dont know why. But I know it

is so. It has something to do with the fact that we are all not so

separated from each other as we think. "

I was talking about love, brother!

Hey Devre,

I think you have a double standard about concepts. When

it comes to your concepts, or the concepts you like,

they are OK. Since you came here, you have writing

hundreds of concepts. Just today, your answer to Muralis

was three times longer than anything I have ever written here.

So saying, I write sooo many concepts and my head is

overheated is disingenuous, to say the least.

It's like when you answer to Tony and me, and end with

I don't want to discus this anymore. So what you really

want is to give us your concepts, and we are suppose

to accept them without disturbing them.

Let's face it Devre, if you don't want to hear other people's

concepts, why are you here? No one can write anything other

than concepts. I guess you came to teach us, eh?, and that's ok,

but we are going to teach back, Devre. That's the way it works!

And, I mentioned anger because you wrote I was angry. I was not

angry then, and I'm not angry now. It's all your projection.

But, as long as you say something which I consider wrong,

I'm going to rebut it.

Like you are against Balkesar, and call it Balseboy. Well it's

OK not to like what he says. I don't like it either. But, really,

you don't have to call him Balseboy. That's a cheap.

It's just your opinion, that he is not a sage, and someone else

who you like is a master, and his words should be taking as truth.

Is all just based in what you like, Devre. It's all about YUO.

I'm not angry, dude, you need to hear these things. You came here to

learn about Devre. Well let me tell you, You are a laugh!

Pete

Hi Stephen,

I know you are not my enemy, I knew you were not going to try to

insult me. You are not understanding my words. I said no one really

knew me, and you responded in a way, that I understood as saying:

I know you Pete.

All I say to you is Prove you know me. It might be you were just

saying you learned from me, and I didn't understand it, the way

you phrase it. Then, you went all mystical about ethereal knowing.

It's OK. I know you mean well, and I like

what you write, sometimes.

Take care,

Pete

Hi Toombarus, I had written:

>And then there is LOVE which finds itself in all phenomenons - it is

>unconditional. When you become aware of this LOVE it makes no

>difference if it finds itself in a bird, in a tree or in an email ...

>it is everywhere ...

And you have answered:

>All love is conditional.

Tell me about the conditions of such love.

Greetings

Stefan

Every " thing " emerges from within the milieu of conditions..........every thing

" exists " only in relation to everything else....... " love " needs a subject and

and object.......

Mind resonates to the concept of a " primal love " ......a substrate.....out of

which the dream emerges......but....that is....perhaps ...only part of the

dream.......a more subtle longing......for quiet waters......

****************************************

Stefan.............

What if there were nothing......beyond..........this......

.........this very moment?

no enlightenment.......no god......no love............nothing?

What if......THIS.....is all there ever was?
