To fill the time with life

Life can be something that simply happen to us, or it

can be something that we feel intensely. The diference

lies in the way we face it.

 

It is true that, to most of us, Life is filled with

routine, obligations, tasks that we may not like. But

it is also true that, if we pay attention, with

interest, everyday is a new day, we always find new

details that make our days different. Besides, there

are hundreds of small things that we do not notice

that may bring some light to us. Probably, on the way

home there is a window, or a tree, or a corner

specially beautiful that we have never noticed. When

we do things with Love and a positive spirit, even the

most unpleasant tasks become meaningful.

 

There are always things that we like and do with

enthusiasm, simple pleasures such as: writing,

cooking, jogging, drawing... tasks that we usually

don't do due to lack of time, or because we do not

feel like doing it in that precise moment. We have to

make an effort, leaving aside the comfort, to do those

satisfactory things that fill our time with

creativity.

 

Sometimes, monotony is imposed by the circumstances,

but other times we let it catches us through force of

habit. It is not so hard to choose a different street

to go to the market, or to use a different spice in

our dishes, and doing so, to add to our lives small

brush strokes of novelty.

 

Our interior gets richer with new experiences, and

must be fed on: music, visiting places, reading,

talking...doing things, but doing them with the eyes

and ears wide open, ready to absorb and enjoy

everything.

 

In the end, those small efforts of positive attitude,

receptivity, renounce comfort, may be very gratifying,

because happiness doesn't consist in filling life with

years, but filling the years with life.
