Guest guest
Namaste, This falls into different categories. 1. First of all there are those that like the teachings and seems to suit the western instant gratification syndrome. You don't have to do anything, just read his books, preach a little about love and say 'Who am I?'. Misunderstanding and practical hypocrisy seem to come to some of them. Others make a Godform out of him and worship an advaitin,????????? but also without a lot of committment to any great Sadhana. 2. Then there are those that apply the Hindu Dharma and all its precepts and concepts, including Ahimsa, vegetarianism etc etc. They are essentially a Hindu Sect and that's alright for those who are Bhaktas. 3. Lastly there are those that have gone through the stages and arrived at True Self Enquiry. And realise that 'Who am I' requires a whole lot of sadhana and practice to get the mental maturity, and purification to fully understand it. It is not instant gratification, pollyanna, emotionalism but a complex system of Sadhana. So there are many stages on the path and many in following the teaching of Ramana. As Maharaj said only one man in Mumbai can even understand non dualism intellectually................ONS..Saktidas/Tony.

I can only speak of my own experience. I discovered (or thought I did)Ramana and Maharaj at the same time, saw much in Ramana, but Nisarargadatta reached my soul. I cannot say that Sri Ramana is any the lessor or his followers less commited than me. And i do not know who your sources are. But I heard Maharaj speak only well of Ramanana. Several of his long-time followers visited Maharaj often; he was always happy when one of them joined his Satsang. On one occassion an elderly man and his family visited. When he left Maharaj sat with eyes closed, then smiled and said that man spent 20 years with the Maharshi. He did not come here to receive from me. He knows all he needs. He brought his son and Daughter to meet me and perhaps learn. I do question why some appear to validate themselves by downgrading others. PS: Maharaj was not impressed with an intelec- tual understanding of vedanta: john (formerly jcoxco here) > 2. Guest guest
Well well well, Isn't this post below interesting! I guess most of you just erased what has been said in this post thinking it was just bull %$#$! the western instant gratification syndrome!! ha ha ha! I like that! Good post! If enlightement would be that easy to gain. Well Master NIS and Ramana wouldn't be soo important! There are some people that say that they understand Master Nis but when they speak it is the opposite of his teachings??? They understand Ramana but when I say the same thing in my words of what Ramana taught They say that I am a clown?? and they laugh at what I said. You can laugh at me but not at Ramana's teachings. Well if you say you like Ramana!
