Guest guest
I don't know if I am fooling myself, but I believe a path to clarity is to focus on feelings instead of on thoughts. To feel emotions and sensations as a whole field inside and around the body. To more and more dwell in that field. /AL

Guest guest
Hi Anders, Why not ? If your mind needs a lot of thinking it will do it. Guest guest
Anders, As I wrote you already some days ago Fear is the movement away from. If you try to get rid of fear, especially with thinking then this thinking again is a movement away from (fear) and fear will stay or even get stronger. The trick now is: Instead trying to get rid of fear embrace it and get very near to it and cuddly cling to it. It's a very powerful tool for making suffering to burn itself up. That's what I meant by the path to clarity. To stay in the whole field of feelings and emotions. To turn away focus of awareness from thought to sensing the entire field in and outside the body (which may also include thought, but not putting too much attention on thought alone). /AL > > > Nisargadatta , " anders_lindman " > <anders_lindman> wrote: > > > > Nisargadatta , " Werner Woehr " <wwoehr@p...> > wrote: > > > > > > Hi Anders, > > > > > > Why not ? Werner The trick, as we have recognized, is to suffer from fear and too much thinking - consciously. I find it helpful to recognize how thoughts and emotions go together. For example, I think about something I have to do which I think is boring, painful, stressful or which makes me tired just to think about it. Then I observe that feeling of boredom, of being tired e t c as a whole sensation in body and mind along with the thought. Then: aha! What's this nasty feeling I have along with this thought?! Then I can trace a whole web of thoughts related to this feeling, and I see that there is no end to this web. That means that there will do no good for me to try to solve this contraction by mere intellectual analysis, and then I just stay in the painful feeling. Eventually these painful states become burned up, bit by bit. /AL > > > Nisargadatta , " anders_lindman " > <anders_lindman> wrote: > > > > Nisargadatta , " Werner Woehr " <wwoehr@p...> > wrote: > > > > > > Anders, > > > > > > As I wrote you already some days ago > > > > > > Fear is the movement away from. > > > > > > If you try to get rid of fear, especially with thinking then this > > > thinking again is a movement away from (fear) and fear will stay > or > > > even get stronger. > > > > > > The trick now is: Instead trying to get rid of fear embrace it > and > > > get very near to it and cuddly cling to it. > > > > > > Werner > > > > Yes, that's what Gurdjieff called conscious suffering.
