Guest guest
Can you see thoughts as thoughts? Probably not yet. I will tell you how you can begin to recognize thoughts as thoughts. Do you believe a thought about your money is different than a thought about the moon? Do you feel a difference between a thought about the binary number '1' and thoughts about your own death? If you do, then you are not seeing thoughts as thoughts, you are then seeing thoughts as being equal to what is. Thoughts are a part of what is, but have no more, and no less, reality than a soap opera on TV. /AL

Just _feel_ the difference between thoughts about personal relationships and thoughts about the moon, for example. It requires just a simple noticing of this difference to find out what the self is. Extremely simple, yet extraordinary difficult unless you have matured enough spiritually.

You're the one always talking about this stuff which you've never experienced, but you imagine will happen... when? Oh, the future. You denounce the future at the same time pinning all your hopes on it. What's up w that? If you see the future is really not there, your game ends. For example, as I write this I feel a slight sensation of stress because I have to go to work soon. So the future is here in me, as thoughts but more importantly as a nervous tense field of resisting peace in the present moment.

Yes, memories are probably a part of what determines focus of awareness. But maybe not the whole part. There is a newness in the moment which also acts as a determinating factor in where focus of awareness goes. /AL
