" Choice implies consciousness - a high degree of consciousness.

Without it, I have no choice.

Choice begins the moment I dis-identify from my mind and its

conditioned patterns, the moment I become Self-present. Until I reach

that point, I'm unconscious, spiritually speaking.

This means that I'm compelled to think, feel, and act in certain ways

according to the conditioning of my mind.

Nobody consciously chooses dis-function, conflict, and pain. Nobody

chooses insanity. They happen because

there isn't enough conscious Self-presence to dissolve the past, not

enough light to dispel the darkness.

.......

As long as my mind (with its conditioned patterns) runs my life, what

choice do I have? NONE!

I'm not even there yet, and I won't be there until I become Self-

conscious.

THE MIND-IDENTIFIED STATE IS SEVERELY DIS-FUNCTIONAL.

Identification, disidentification, resentment, bondage, conditioning,

patterns, etc.--all of it, including the sufferer of it and the

supposed remedy, which you call " Self-present, higher consciousness. "

Dear Kenji,

Looks like, you meant your comments for the writer of this passage,

who is ...Tolle.

I wish, Tolle was here to read ...'your' analysis or if it was

possible for me to mail him your `analysis' :)

But, if in fact, you have respect for Tolle and think that he is

ENLIGHTENED, ...very genuine, authentic, deep, real and insightful

and wrote the above just because ...you thought, it was from someone

else, ...

Perhaps, it is time you do a DEEP Analysis of ...YOUR Analysis !

With warm regards,

ac.

Hey AC --

I doubt Ken buys into that fairy tale of enlightened, authentic, and

deep. Do you still believe in such distinctions?

I'm not interested in either of these. Utterances about needing to

do something or not do something don't hold meaning somehow. It's

hard to explain. It's not a special state of mind or being, but

rather all of these things, ideas, conquests... whatever, just don't

mean anything. It's seen to be like a little play, playing house

with some dolls.

The dichotomies also don't hold weight. I could be deluded to the

max! I can only say what's true for me. I don't even feel like what

I'm saying fits into any specific " spiritual model " and I don't feel

the slightest urge to fit what I'm saying into anything. The seeking

of validation is gone (for now).
