Guest guest
Obviously we are choosing all the time. But the misconception is, that some people believe there was a " free will " behind those choices. It is sooo very easy to disprove this funny idea! All those thoughts... choices... are coming up without control of any " will " . Just watch it, everybody!... for 30 seconds... if you have already had a strong coffe, latest after 20 seconds there comes a choice. Maybe one like: " I just have to open my eyes for a millisecond, to check if I have put bread in the toaster " . Where was the free will before that? Did you see it? There is none, believe me... Where would you locate it? The choice comes up because the mind cannot see the " oneness " between " not opening eyes/opening eyes " . Another simple thought leads to the same conclusion: whenever you may recognise " I make a choice " , the " making " of the choice has already passed. You cannot undo this choice! You only can make another choice instead, and with that choice it is the same etc..etc... . Look at it now: this chain. If you ever really look, the idea of " free will " will vanish forever. Believe me, there will be quite some relief and a door might open (symbolicaly and dreamed)for some new thoughts, that are still waiting to be thought in your grey cells. But your " free will " will NOT bring them up. They come... when they come... ___ who wrote this? Funny thing is, it doesn't matter either way. I still make choices. Life still happens as it does. Joe

Just watch, just observe, ... ....it is calling STEPPING OUT ...of Time. THIRD CHOICE is to accept it totally and then SEE what is the BEST thing to do ... It might also involve examining the root of that though and emotions as well as observation and awareness of where this emotion and thought might lead to ... ...... .... .. Yes, I have had a few - what is called lucid dreams. It is a very cool experience. You wake up in the dream and know you are dreaming! Then choice becomes more like real choices. I often in lucid dreams try to fly around in the dream world. The more lucid the dream, the more control over what I can do present itself. /AL

Dear Dabo, Thank you very much for your comments. I greatly appreciate it. I understand your viewpoint and I think, I also understand the basis behind it. What I write below is in no way an attempt to invalidate or negate what you say above. What is true for you now, ...is true for you now, ...unless it is No LONGER true for you anymore. What anybody else says doesn't matter all that much. Examine it, see it, test it, ...observe it in your life and but ultimately you are the ONLY Proof for you. Consider, what I present here as just another perspective. See if it makes Sense, if you are interested you can even observe it in your life and see if it is close enough representation of ...what happens. With warm regards and ...love, ac. ======= Whether, you happen in the Moment or the Moment happens in you, ...is a matter of perspective. A matter of looking, ...a matter of focus! ....it is matter of Identification. Identify with temporary arrangement ...the phenomenon called ego or mind, ...consider it `yourself' and ...the moment would seem to precede you. The moment would seem like creating you, making you, ...and, you almost a powerless, choice-less ...victim. A mere byproduct ... The problem is with the wrong ...Identification! ...... .... .. but, focus on the Awareness ... ....the Consciousness, ...the Spaciousness in which the content of your life, ...your `world' unfolds ... ....and, you will find yourself preceding and outlasting everything else ... You will SEE that, ...every moment, ...time, space, senses, feeling, experiences, thoughts, emotions everything rises and falls in you ! All happens INSIDE ...of You. .. .... ...... You SEE them arising ... ....you see them falling ...!
Guest guest
As long as you are identified with the conditioned mind, ...the ego which is merely an automated creation of the past. ....which gets created just based on the programming, conditioning, learning and experiences of the past. ....you really have no choice. The Mind only knows how to replicate past ... ....how to project past into future. There is NOT enough Awareness even to SEE the Present Moment, ...let alone having any Choice ... .. .... ..... When, you notice the moment, ...it has already done its work. I don't notice its arising as its precedes you ...the `identified' self. All you Notice is, ...its Aftermath! ....and, it is Already Too Late for That Moment ...! However, even in such a scenario, you still have some choice. As long as you have awareness, presence, consciousness even to notice the `passing' Moment, ...you still have a Choice. Now, you have the CHOICE Over the ...Next Moment. This Moment has already done its job. ....but, Now, You are ...Fully Aware and the Next Moment hasn't yet Happened ...!
